It’s October! How’d that happen? Yeah, I know, the Earth is making its way around the sun in typical fashion and even if it feels like we’re hurtling toward our respective demises, there’s a whole batch of new things to try at Aldi! And I’m pleased to report it’s not all pumpkin spice-this and apple cider-that. This month’s Aldi haul includes staples like soup, hard seltzer, and pizza rolls. Wait, do pizza rolls not qualify as a staple? Welp, all the same, here are some of the best things to buy at Aldi this month.
- Specially Selected Croissant Toast (Available 10/22; $5.49)
-
A loaf of sandwich bread that’s buttery like a croissant? Yeah, you can count us in. The bag suggests using it to make French toast and grilled cheese sandwiches, but I want a runny egg and cheese sandwich on this stuff. Bad.
- Mama Cozzi’s Pasta Pockets (Available 10/8; $4.29)
-
I’ll admit it: Toasted ravioli from the frozen section are never very good. And these look an awful lot like toasted ravioli from the frozen section, but the flavors sound pret-ty irresistible. There’s Lasagna Style (breaded pasta stuffed with lasagna style filling), Pimento (breaded pasta stuffed with a blend of cheeses, macaroni, and pimento peppers), and Truffle (breaded pasta stuffed with a blend of cheeses, macaroni, and a hint of truffle). And they really do look “stuffed”! They’re nice n’ fat. I’m a pimento cheese-aholic, so that’s the one I’m grabbing first.
- Fusia Pork or Chicken Wonton Soup (Available NOW; $2.99)
-
Okay, we recently tried Bibigo’s frozen wonton soup and loved it—it beat out all the Bibigo dumplings we tried, and that’s really saying something. Now Aldi has two versions of its own, one with chicken-stuffed wontons and one with pork-stuffed wontons. Not sure it’ll outdo Bibigo, but it’s worth trying at less than three bucks a bowl.
- Mama Cozzi’s Halloween Pumpkin or Ghost Pizza (Available NOW; $4.99)
-
Does food taste better when it comes in fun shapes? I mean, most children would say so, and I’m with the kids on this one. Mama Cozzi’s has two spooky season-appropriate pizzas coming this month: a ghost with olive eyes and a marinara sauce mouth and a jack o’lantern with mozzarella eyes and a creamy cheese sauce mouth. Adorable and delicious (hopefully).
- Mama Cozzi’s Pizza Snacks—Taco and Cheeseburger (Available NOW; $4.99)
-
These are kinda like Totino’s Pizza Rolls…if Totino’s Pizza Rolls were only vaguely related to a pizza concept. Instead of sauce and cheese and pepperoni, these little pockets from Aldi are stuffed with cheesy taco meat and cheesy hamburger meat. Will these give me instant indigestion? Most certainly. Will I eat them anyway? Yah, yah I will. As a person who specifically misses cheeseburger Bagel Bites (RIP!), I’m hoping these scratch that itch.
- Hard Seltzer Holiday Party Pack (Available 10/3; $12.99)
-
Hard seltzer variety packs are boring. What do you get? Black cherry? Maybe mango? Aldi is releasing a pretty wild one for the approaching holiday season. You get Pear Martini, Cranberry Pomegranate, Berry Bramble, and Cherry Spice. Very festive—and still low cal, low carb, and low sugar, which we can’t say for most of the stuff you’ll be consuming for the next three months.
