McDonald’s drinks are usually quite boring. There. We said it! There’s nothing wrong with them, per se, but throughout the years, the emphasis of what goes on under those Golden Arches has always been about the food. It feels like McDonald’s knew that too: In 2023, it launched its CosMc’s concept, an offshoot mini-chain that focused on specialty drinks.

CosMc’s only lasted until 2025—looks like people weren’t fully on board with its spacey vibes—but that hasn’t stopped McDonald’s from pinching its menu items. This year, it’s been testing some of its CosMc’s-inspired drinks at hundreds of stores around the country, with a view for them to launch nationwide if successful, says Instagram snack supremo @snackwire. Here’s what they’ve been trying out.

New McDonald’s Drinks:

Strawberry Watermelon Refresher

Combining lemonade with a strawberry-watermelon refresher syrup and with dried strawberries mixed in, this is a drink that’s destined to be a summer smash. McDonald’s is clearly playing a little fast and loose with the space theme here (could the freeze-dried strawbs be classed as astronaut food?), but we’re still on board.

Popping Tropic Refresher

The second of McDonald’s’ new lemonade-based drinks, this one combines the soda with a mango-pineapple refresher syrup. The standout ingredient here is strawberry-flavored boba pearls. Guys… we’re sold.

Sprite Berry Splash

This shock-blue drink stays in the citrus family, with a Sprite base and blue raspberry syrup. The finishing touch is a crown of cold foam—an interesting choice for a soda, so this one could be divisive.

Sprite Lunar Splash

Now we’re getting into the “cosmic” of it all! Finally. The Sprite Berry Splash starts with Sprite, with a lemon-vanilla syrup mixed in, and a final scattering of dried dragon fruit. We have to admit that this one sounds pretty fun.

Peach Boost Energizer

Starting with a Red Bull base and then mixing in peach-flavored syrup, the Peach Boost Energizer promises to be super sweet. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but this one could be a hit with a younger audience.

Dragonberry Energizer

Here, Red Bull is combined with blue raspberry syrup, and then it’s finished off with dragon fruit. The fruit creates an attractive two-tone effect in this drink, which again will likely be big with young adults.

Creamy Vanilla Cold Brew

McDonald’s keeps things simple here, with cold brew coffee mixed with vanilla. If there was ever a trial drink destined to become a main menu item, this one’s it. The Creamy Vanilla Cold Brew has appeared as a test item before, and it seems like Mickey D’s is gearing up to take this one national.

Toasted Vanilla Cold Brew Frappe

Cold brew blended into a frappé, with a toasted vanilla syrup mixed in, topped with whipped cream. We’ve gotta be honest, this one’s our personal favorite.

Where Can I Grab These New Drinks?

McDonald’s has been trialling its CosMc’s drinks in stores around the West and Midwest, but as yet there’s no official word on a full rollout. When they do, though, we’ll be getting in line.
