Mountain Dew Typhoon Is Coming Back: Here’s Where and When You Can Find It

Videos by Sporked

Mountain Dew, we’re starting to feel like you’ve got your sights set on a brighter future on the other side of the world. In the last couple of weeks, the soda brand has started to tease a flurry of Australia-exclusive flavors, thereby putting its flag in the ground Down Under. We’ve already brought you the news that Mountain Dew Blue Raspberry flavor is being rolled out over there, and now we’ve received word that Mountain Dew Typhoon is back, but only in that neck of the woods. Sucks to be anywhere else. Here’s what we know.

Australia, Get Ready for a Storm… A Storm of Flavor, That Is!

So far, details are a little scant on exactly when Mountain Dew Typhoon will be heading to Australia (and also why Mountain Dew isn’t releasing it anywhere else), but word on the street is that it’ll be shipped out in the standard 600-milliliter bottles. We’d also imagine that it’ll drop in the next couple of months, given that the rumblings of its return have now reached the soda influencer world, but again, we’re not certain on that one just yet.

What we are certain about is that people are going to be pretty happy when it lands. “Absolutely loved this one,” said one commenter on the Instagram post that broke the news of Mountain Dew Typhoon returning to life. Another person said what a lot of others are thinking: “Sigh another one avoids the US…” Sadly, it’s been a long time now that Mountain Dew has been an international drink, so we’re not totally surprised that other countries are getting some of the good stuff. Doesn’t mean it’s not sad, though.

A Cult-Favorite

Mountain Dew Typoon has a long, illustrious history, and the brand has been playing hide and seek with it for a while now. The strawberry-pineapple flavor was first released in 2009 for a limited time before disappearing, and rearing its head once more in 2011. It then returned, very briefly, in 2011, available only in two-liter bottles – before taking an 11-year break, finally popping back up in 2022. We actually ended up trying a discontinued can of it last year, and… we did like it.

Sadly, though, for now, it doesn’t look like the US or any other part of the world will be able to get its hands on it. There’s still Mountain Dew Infinite Swirl, which is basically the same flavor – but while that shows up a bit more regularly, it’s still a limited-time deal too, and as of the end of 2025, it looks as though it’s back out of circulation. We’re very happy to be proved wrong on that one, though, so if you spot it, let us know.
