Why does Australia get to have all the fun? It’s got surfing. It’s got koalas. And it’s got great food. The Land Down Under’s got a few food products that can be tricky to find elsewhere, from Vegemite to Tim Tams (the latter are delicious, just FYI – take it from someone who asks their Australian family members to bring packs of them whenever they fly back to the UK). And now, it looks like they’re gonna have one more: blue raspberry Mountain Dew.

Yep, that’s right, people. Pepsi is starting to roll out its all-new Mountain Dew Blue Razz Blitz across stores in Australia, and if you’re elsewhere, you’re outta luck trying it just now. Here’s what we know.
Mountain Dew Blue Razz Blitz: Only Available in the South Pacific
Mountain Dew’s newest flavor is a sour blue raspberry affair, and comes in its Energised line – which basically means that it has a bunch of caffeine in it. So far, bottles of it have been spotted in 7-Elevens across the country, and it looks as though it’s going to be coming in 600ml and 1.25l bottles. The larger bottles will be available in major retailers nationwide.
We’ve gotta admit that this flavor sounds pretty good, and it seems like a lot of people agree. They also share our feelings and sentiments that it would be great if this were released across the whole globe. “Wow that sounds rlly good. I wish Mountain Dew would release more flavors universally,” said one person on Reddit, with another saying, “I hate these exclusives sm,” accompanied by a crying emoji. We know how you feel, dude.
We’re All Crying Out for Good Blue Raspberry, Pepsi
Now, it should be said that there are blue raspberry flavors in the Mountain Dew line in the US, both present and past. The problem is that they’re just not that great. Well, we don’t think so, anyway. We ranked Mountain Dew Voltage, its current blue raspberry offer, last in our taste-test of Mountain Dew flavors, giving it a measly four out of ten. Now and again, the brand will drop a limited-edition Mountain Dew flavor that has a blue raspberry note in it, but those are pretty few and far between. And honestly, the less said about Pepsi Electric, the better.
So, for the present moment, we’re going to have to sit across the ocean and seethe with envy while Australians enjoy what we suspect will be a very tasty drink (while we also mourn all those other international Mountain Dew flavors that we can’t try). But who knows? Maybe it’ll make it across the pond if it’s a big enough smash. We can only hope, while we furiously look at plane ticket prices to Sydney.
