It’s Sprite season, apparently (although does it ever really stop?)! The drinks brand is starting to come into its own as we reach some warmer weather and the summer starts to gently, but surely, peek its head around the corner. Last week, we brought you the news that a new Sprite Chill flavor is hitting stores (well, one store), and now we’re here to report that there’s another new one making its way to McDonald’s: Berry Blast Sprite.

Oh, and in case you’re wondering? We think this one will be a winner. Here’s what we know about this new beverage.
What’s in Berry Blast Sprite?
It’s fair to say that this is more of a Sprite concoction than a brand-new flavor. As in, they’re not rejigging the base soda, but rather, the McDonald’s option is adding in some goodies that’ll make it taste way better. As @snackolator reports, Berry Blast Sprite is a mixture of Sprite and blue raspberry, with a touch of cold foam on top. This last addition will give it a touch of heft that almost, just almost, brings it in line with the dirty sodas that everyone’s putting out (including Taco Bell, apparently).
The Berry Blast Sprite was actually a menu item at CosMc’s, McDonald’s’ now-defunct soda chain, which attempted to aim squarely at a younger audience. Now that CosMc’s is closed, McDonald’s is bringing its drinks over to its regular menu. Back then, Berry Blast Sprite was called the Sprite Berry Splash. We think that its former name was a touch more chic, but hey, what do we know?
What Does Berry Blast Sprite Taste Like?
Well…we think it’ll taste of berries. And lemon. And a touch of vanilla. We’re being slightly tongue-in-cheek here, but it seems to do what it says on the tin well, if what people are saying about it is to be taken as read. Snackolator reported that it was an absolute smash bit, saying, “It’s one of the best fast food sodas I’ve ever had.” Others who tried it back when it was available at CosMc’s also confirmed that it was worth the plunge, calling it delicious.
When Will Berry Blast Sprite Be Available?
We’re not sure just yet, but we don’t think it’ll be too long before it hits stores. If people are now doing taste-tests, it won’t be long before it arrives – and summer’s right there, people. We can taste it. And this’ll be very good on a hot day. Ready to blast off? Because we sure are.
