Lay’s will be kicking off the World Cup this summer with three limited-edition flavors, and they look offense-ively good! Ha. Haha. Ha. (I’m sorry. I really tried to come up with good soccer puns for you guys. I even played soccer in high school, but I can’t remember a single term. Goal? Net? Offsides? Maybe I can do something with offsides. Hmmm…)

Lay’s World Cup release includes two brand new Lay’s chip flavors, and the return of a Messi-collab from last year.
The two new flavors:
- Wavy French Onion Soup Lay’s
- Brazilian Style Garlic Sauce Lay’s
The returning flavor that launched back in August as a collab with Messi:
- Argentinian Style Steak with Chimichurri
We don’t have too much info on flavor profiles yet, but the new ones sound incredible. Correct me if I’m offsides here (nailed it), but this is the first time Lay’s has made a French onion soup flavor. The fact that it’s a wavy chip feels perfect with the flavor profile. It just scratches my brain right. Agree with me, please? Someone?
Since we weren’t able to try the Argentinian Style Steak with Chimichurri Lay’s last year, I explored some Reddit threads to get a sense of public opinion. Reviews range from “eh, fine” to “pretty good.” Apparently they taste less like steak and more like herbs, but I do wonder if Lay’s will tweak their recipe for this new launch based on fan feedback. We’ll see!
This news comes to us courtesy of Snackolater, who speculates these new Lay’s chips will be released sometime around mid-April. Wait, wait, wait. How is that already in a month? Guys, the year is going WAY too fast…
