People love Trader Joe’s mini carrot cake sheet cakes. They go crazy when they’re back in stock. I mean, not mini pastel Trader Joe’s tote crazy, but they definitely make a beeline for the bakery section when those babies return. Well, what if I told you that Trader Joe’s went ahead and turned their famous carrot cake sheet cake into a spread? ‘Cuz that’s exactly what they did.

Eagle-eyed Trader Joe’s shoppers have spotted Trader Joe’s new Whipped Carrot Cake Cream Cheese Spread in the cheese section. And it sounds like a new instant classic. Let’s dig into everything we know about this exciting new spread.
What exactly is this Whipped Carrot Cake Cream Cheese Spread?
It’s a sweet, dessert spread made with brown sugar, dried carrot, and spices. Multiple Trader Joe’s–focused Instagrammers have snapped photos of the new TJ’s spread, showing it being sold in the cheese section for $2.79.
How do you use it?
How do you not use it? My first thought is an obvious one: bagels! This new spread would be especially good on a sweet bagel like a cinnamon-raisin. You could also slather it on toast—perhaps with an extra sprinkle of cinnamon or even a topping of shredded carrots. You could layer it with graham crackers to make an ice box cake. You could dip fruit into it. You can use it as a frosting on carrot cake and make the most carrot cakey carrot cake that ever did carrot cake! Or you could just eat it with a spoon.
Is it any good?
We haven’t gotten our greedy little hands on this new spread yet (we will, don’t worry) but early reviews are positive. Instagrammer @traderjoesaficianado wrote that it’s “one of those Trader Joe’s items where you buy it for ‘breakfast’ and suddenly it’s gone by 2pm.” Fans are champing at the bit to get a taste. “Take my money & soul,” one person wrote.
