It’s no secret that Japan has got convenience store food figured out, and it looks like they’ve brought that standard to the already fantastic Costco.

American vs. Japanese Costco
There are a lot of similarities between an American and Japanese Costco. A Japanese Costco will stock a lot of familiar Kirkland items, feature similar pricing, and also probably be horrifically crowded on the weekends. The food court even still has the famous Costco hot dog and drink combo! But, where a Japanese Costco pulls away from the crowd is when it comes to its incredible selection of sushi, its deli, and its hot bar.
Japanese Costco sushi options
Patrons at a Japan Costco can casually choose from a wide variety of fresh, high-quality sushi for a serious bargain. Options include:
- Premium sushi combo set: 32 pieces (that’s including a row of salmon roe maki) for about $26
- Tuna and salmon sushi: 18 pieces for about $16
- Salmon sushi: 24 pieces for about $17
- Sushi combo plate: 48 pieces for about $26
- Kirameki seafood chirashi bowl (sushi rice topped with sushi ingredients) for about $13
Hot food bar options
Not in the mood for sushi? Or even Japanese food? No problem! Head to the hot bar for global options like paella, grilled chicken legs, Cantonese style char siu, char siu noodles, cioppino soup, salmon creme penne, shrimp penne rosa, orange chicken, butter chicken curry, seafood ajillo, beef stew, and mentaiko mayo pizza. That’s pizza with mentaiko mayo (mayo made with marinated cod or pollock roe), cheese, potato, and onion. Maybe it’s not a pizza that you’d see on every menu in Naples, but don’t knock it until you try it!
