Going to a drive-thru with your car? That’s old news. Using a motorbike? Boring. But saddling up your horse and clip-clopping off to get your burgers? Now, that’s the way to do it in 2026.

It might sound like a fever dream, but stories concerning people using equine transport to go to fast-food drive-thrus have been pretty common this year. A few weeks ago, we brought you word that McDonald’s had just changed its policy to allow horse-drawn carriages through its drive-thrus, and now we come with news that you can use your horse to pick up your Chick-Fil-A order. That’s all thanks to a guy in Florida, who did just that. What a world.

Just Put the Chicken Sandwich in My Saddlebag, Thanks

The willingness of Chick-Fil-A employees to allow a real, live horse through its drive-thrus was confirmed recently by Floridian Felipe Delamora, who filmed and posted a video of himself riding one to his local store. “I was on my way home back from a ride on my horse, and I got thirsty, so I stopped through the Chick‑fil‑A drive‑through and had an amazing interaction with the employees,” Delamora said to Newsflare, which came to us via People. Said interaction involved several employees who greeted Delamora and his horse as it trotted up to the drive-thru entrance, with mouths wide open at the fact that a live animal was the customer’s chosen method of transport. “This is amazing,” said one employee, Mike, who phoned it in on his walkie-talkie. “Look at the cameras right now. We have a horse.”

Delamora, who only wanted to get a drink (and not one of Chick-Fil-A’s new sandwiches), asked for a Sunjoy – and Mike offered to give him a large drink at a discount. Hey, if that’s what you get for using a horse to pick up food, we should all be doing it. The whole affair was super good-natured, with employees taking pictures of the horse (and, we’re sure, talking about it for the rest of the day afterward).

2026: The Year of the (Chicken) Fire Horse

As you’d probably expect, Chick-Fil-A does not have an official policy on whether you can use a horse or not to pick up its food – or at least, if it does, we couldn’t find one. That’s probably because no one does it, and the fast food chain has reasoned that it kinda doesn’t need talking about in the first place. Well, now it does. You might wanna get your FAQ’s updated, guys.

However, given that, in Chinese zodiac terms, this is the Year Of The Fire Horse, we feel like we should be hopping on horses to do other stuff, too. Grocery shopping? Going to the park? Picking up the kids? All bets are off, apparently.
