Birthday cake flavor has been one of the biggest obsessions of the last few years for the food industry – by which we mean that everyone’s using it. These days, virtually every company around has a birthday cake version of their product, and as of 2026, that shows no signs of stopping. We’ve recently seen Portillo’s bring out a birthday cake shake (which is pretty good), Erewhon dropping a birthday cake-esque smoothie, and Oreo churning out confetti cake Cakesters.

And now? It’s Jell-O’s turn. No, it’s not bringing out birthday cake-flavored jello, but instead, we’ve got a Birthday Cake Flavored Pudding to try. Here’s the lowdown on this new dessert, and when we can expect to see it.
Jell-O Birthday Cake Flavored Pudding: A Party in a Tub
Jell-O’s new refrigerated pudding is a two-parter: You get a cup of birthday cake-flavored pudding, and a little pot of cookie crumbles and sprinkles, which you can scatter over the top (while singing yourself “Happy Birthday,” if that’s what you wanna do). You get two desserts per pack, and each one is 140 calories per serving.
It’s a little early to know exactly how this thing is gonna taste, given that it’s only just started its rollout. However, we would hope that Jell-O doesn’t mess this one up. Birthday cake is a pretty easy flavor to get right, as it’s basically a combination of sugar, a slight creaminess, and a touch of vanilla, all of which fall pretty cleanly into pudding’s remit. Will they be releasing an instant pudding mix version any time soon? Probably not, but if it’s a smash, then the sky’s the limit.
When Can I Find It? Where Can I Find It?
As yet, we’re not sure. Jell-O hasn’t announced where it will be available just yet, and it hasn’t provided any information on a concrete release date. That said, it’s now on the Jell-O website, so it can’t be far off – even if its “See All Stores” option currently reveals zero stores to buy it at.
For now, then, you’re gonna have to make do with Jell-O’s other pudding flavors until it drops. Its refrigerated pudding line is generally slightly more ambitious than its instant mix one, and at the moment, we’ve got the likes of Strawberry Cheesecake, Chocolate Vanilla Swirl, and Lemon Meringue Pie, which is in Jell-O’s Temptations line.
Jell-O itself has been leaning into nostalgia in the last couple of months, with its classic Jiggler Easter Egg Molds going back on sale after several decades of being off the scene. With this birthday cake flavor, it’s continuing that retro feel, while also tapping into one of the hottest tastes of the moment.
