If you’ve read Sporked for a while, you’ll probably know that we’re pretty big fans of GHOST. The energy drink brand’s flavors may not hit the spot for us all the time, but by and large, we’re big fans of its retro-ish, candy-inspired range of options. They may not be to everyone’s tastes, but flavors like its Strawberry Watermelon and its Blue Raspberry definitely deliver on their promise, even if they can be, well, a bit much.

Now, we’re receiving word that another classic flavor option may be coming our way from GHOST. The scuttlebutt is that it’s developing a 7UP Shirley Temple flavor, and we are soooo ready. Here’s what we know.
Here’s the Deal with 7UP Shirley Temple
News of GHOST’s potential new 7UP Shirley Temple flavor came via the Instagram account @suppwire, which has its ear firmly to the ground on new drinks information. It looks as though this drink, if it is indeed real, would be an energized version of the 7UP’s Shirley Temple option, which landed in late 2024. When we reviewed it back then, we were in love with its grenadine-forward flavor, although we should say that its zero-sugar version did not hit the spot, at all. We can only pray that GHOST, if it is indeed making this drink, isn’t going to go down that route, flavor-wise.
GHOST has previous form in working with 7UP, and recent form too: Just last month, we got an early taste of its 7UP Energy Drink, which we gave a very solid 9/10. If its current success with the brand is anything to go by, we could be in for a treat.
Shirley Temple: It’s All the Rage
Shirley Temple flavors seem to be having a bit of a renaissance of late, especially in the carbonated drink space. Olipop has just released its own Shirley Temple soda, which isn’t the best in the world (we think it’s just too heavy on the lemon, instead of having that lemon lime combo that you really need in this drink). We also brought news of a Shirley Temple Gatorade last year, which was ultimately released as a limited edition option.
To be honest, we get why they’re so popular at the moment. Shirley Temples may feel unbelievably retro, but their combination of lemon-lime, pomegranate syrup, and cherry is refreshing, tart, sweet, and surprisingly layered. Add in the fact that mocktails and non-alcoholic drinks are all the rage, and it’s prime time for it to make a comeback. What we didn’t expect was for it to end up in an energy drink, but you know what? We’re not mad about it. We just hope that the rumors are true. Don’t let us down, GHOST. Don’t…ghost us with this one.
