We might have to wait until 2029 for KPOP Demon Hunters 2, but we only have to wait until April 26 to scan our Derpy cards and get an exclusive video from HUNTR/X. Did that sentence make any sense to you? If so, you’re going to want to read on, because we have more details about this video event from Huin Guillaume, the senior marketing director at McDonald’s.

What is this KPOP Demon Hunters video event?

In case you missed it, McDonald’s has been selling new meals themed to HUNTR/X and the Saja Boys, the main groups in KPOP Demon Hunters. The meals feature foods like Ramyeon McShaker Fries, purple Demon Sauce, Spicy Saja Sauce on a McMuffin, and there’s even a Derpy McFlurry. Every meal comes with collectible card packs featuring a photocard of either HUNTR/X or the Saja Boys and a Derpy access card.

What’s a Derpy access cart?

It’s a card featuring Derpy the tiger and a QR code. That code will grant you access to a video event revealing which group’s meal—the Saja Boys or HUNTR/X—has won the “battle for the fans” (aka which meal sold more).

So, what did Guillaume have to say?

In a post on X, Guillaume revealed a teaser frame from the event, which appears to be the silhouettes of HUNTR/X. “Yes, it’s exactly who you think it is. And it’s only the beginning, more surprises to come,” he wrote. Does this mean HUNTR/X has won the battle? Seems pretty likely, especially considering the Saja Boys meal is only sold at breakfast.

He also added that the company is aware that the meals have been sold out in some locations. “It is true we have sold out faster than planned in some areas in the US due to its success (and to the fact the cards seem to be very popular on EBAY…) but we still have many restaurants where the meals are available until the end of the campaign, so you can finally get your access card to the event in case you have not yet.”

Justine Sterling

Hi! I’m the editor-in-chief of Sporked. I will never turn down a fresh-shucked oyster but I’ll also leap at whatever new product Reese’s releases and I love a Tostitos Hint of Lime, even if there is no actual lime in the ingredients. Why you should trust me: I have been writing about food and beverages for well over a decade and am an avid at-home cook and snacker. I began my career writing about fine dining and recipes, moved into cocktails and spirits, and now I talk about groceries. If you can eat it or drink it, I’ve probably written about it. What I buy every week: Trader Joe’s dried okra. Appleton Farms prosciutto from Aldi. Some sort of Trader Joe’s cheese (I’m into the aged gouda at the moment). Frozen waffles (usually the Eggo Cinnamon Toast Minis). Spindrift water (loving the Cosmopolitan right now). Favorite ranking: Smoked salmon. Imagine me as Scrooge McDuck but instead of coins I’m diving into a vault of slippery smoked salmon slices. Pure joy. I also found some real steals in that taste test! Least favorite ranking: Canned oysters. I had such high hopes for this but it quickly became a chore. The kitchen smelled like an uncleaned aquarium.
