KFC Is Selling a Spicy Buldak Double Down and I’m Booking a Flight to Try It

If you’re a fan of spicy ramen, you’ve probably heard of Samyang Buldak, the South Korean ramen company that makes noodles so spicy they inspired the original fire noodle challenge way back in 2014. Honestly, they’re some of the best instant noodles on the market, and we should know, as we did a ranking of all their flavors last year.

But now they’ve taken their noodles in a wild new direction by teaming up with KFC Singapore to create a new collaboration: the Samyang Buldak Double Down.

What is a Samyang Buldak Carbonara Double Down?

I’m sure you’re familiar with KFC’s legendary Double Down, the sandwich that used two chicken fillets as the bread, with a filling of bacon, cheese, and sauce. And while the sandwich stopped being a permanent menu item back in 2014, it’s continued to pop up from time to time as a limited time item in the states and overseas.

Well, the Samyang Buldak Double Down uses two chicken fillets—specifically KFC’s spicy Zinger cutlets—wrapped around a filling of Samyang Buldak Carbonara noodles, flavored with their fiery and cheesy carbonara sauce. It also includes parmesan cheese and a slice of smoked applewood chicken ham to round out the flavor.

This is one’s features KFC’s Hot and Spicy Chicken with a side of the cheesy and spicy Samyang Buldak Carbonara Sauce, two chicken tenders, a side dish, and a serving of pickled radish cubes (chicken-mu), which is the standard side dish for Korean fried chicken.
