Anyone who’s been visiting our website for a minute will know that we’re pretty big fans of Saffron Road. The frozen food manufacturer makes a bunch of prepared meals that we love, like its Vegetable Biryani, which scored a 10/10 in our taste test of vegetarian frozen meals, and its Chicken Pad Thai, which may not be authentic (it uses tomato instead of tamarind as a starting point) but which is still pretty tasty.

Now, it looks like Saffron Road’s looking to win our hearts and drain our wallets again, as it’s brought out a line of fusion frozen meals that we would very much like to try. Very much indeed. Yes, please. Here’s what you could be finding in a frozen aisle near you.
Crossroads By Saffron Road
Saffron Road’s new Crossroads line is, according to the brand in its press release, “a bold new mashup line designed for where modern consumers are headed next.” These five new meals aim to strike a balance between new fusion flavors and genuine quality, for customers who want a sense of adventure in the comfort of their homes. “As takeout and restaurant prices continue to climb, shoppers are rethinking where value lives. They want globally inspired, restaurant-quality taste, high protein, and cleaner ingredients without seed oils,” says Saffron Road’s CEO, Paul Turbeville. “Crossroads reflects where we see the category going next: bolder flavors, more creativity, meaningful protein, and uncompromising ingredient integrity – all delivered with modern convenience.”
The Crossroads meals were announced back in March, but they’ve recently started showing up more broadly in stores, and they’re also available on the Saffron Road website. You’ve got five different options to choose from.
And Tell Us About Those Options; What Are They?
We know that’s kinda the main event here. Okay! So far in the Crossroads line, we’ve got:
- Beef Birria Rigatoni: Mexican meets Italian here, with slow-braised beef birria in a guajillo-chipotle sauce, mixed with rigatoni pasta and covered in Monterey Jack.
- Butter Chicken Cavatappi: Curry flavors in pasta are both unusual and somewhat underrated. Here, Crossroads goes for it, with yogurt-marinated chicken in a spicy butter sauce, combined with cavatappi.
- Cheesy Korean-Inspired Ravioli: In what almost feels like a take on tteokbokki, this dish mixes cheese ravioli with gochujang sauce, finishing it off with melted mozzarella.
- Hatch Chile Chicken Pesto: Another Mexican-Italian affair here, with bowtie pasta and chicken tossed in a Hatch chile-basil pesto made with Parmesan cheese.
- Lemon Miso Chicken Alfredo: Oh, come on. We’re so into this one. Fettuccine is combined with creamy lemon-miso Alfredo and finished with grilled chicken.
So, we wanna try pretty much all of these, if we’re being totally honest. Luckily, by the sounds of the press release, Crossroads will be a line that Saffron Road will be adding to as time goes on, as opposed to a limited-time affair that disappears before it’s made a proper impact. That’s what we hope for it, anyway.
