Is New GHOST Bubblicious Original Energy Coming to Kroger? Reddit Says Yes

There I was, recovering after catching a late flight home from Burger King Headquarters in Miami, when my phone started blowing up with questions about a recent social media post. Reddit user ContestFantastic1735 posted an innocuous photo to r/energydrinks with the title “Has anyone see [sic] this flavor of ghost before?” Typo aside, it was certainly worth asking since the photo was of a never-before-seen third GHOST Bubblicious Energy flavor.

Yes, GHOST Energy is following the fan-favorite Strawberry Splash and Cotton Candy Bubblicious flavors with… Original. Not “GHOST Original,” but Bubblicious Original. (I’m sure that won’t get confusing.) The classic pink bubble gum flavor is finally coming to GHOST‘s Bubblicious subline. As someone who’s been clamoring for more of these fantastic gum-flavored drinks from GHOST, I’m glad to see that dream come true (even if it isn’t my beloved Bubblicious Watermelon).

How will this drink be “bubblegum” flavored?

While I can’t strictly define that iconic powdered-pink flavor in words, I do know GHOST excels at replicating Bubblicious gum in energy drink form. I was flabbergasted that GHOST’s Bubblicious Cotton Candy energy drink didn’t taste like either cotton candy or regular bubble gum, but rather like authentic cotton-candy bubble gum. That accuracy put the flavor at #1 in my personal GHOST Energy ranking. (I’ve almost forgiven Gwynedd for only putting it at #5 in Sporked‘s official GHOST Energy ranking.)

When and where can we get our hands on GHOST Bubblicious Original Energy?

At this time, we don’t have an official release date (or even a rumored one) for this new GHOST Energy flavor. Based on previous GHOST Bubblicious launches, I expect we’ll see this new flavor hit shelves this summer.

As for which shelves we’ll be able to find it on, I’m a little more confident on that front: Kroger has been the exclusive home of both GHOST Bubblicious flavors in recent years. Based on that history and some clues from the original Reddit post, I expect we’ll see GHOST Bubblicious Original Energy launch exclusively at the Kroger family of grocery stores. Kroger has run pretty solid “2 for $4” deals on their GHOST Bubblicious flavors at launch before; trying this new energy drink should be easy on your wallet, too.
