Costco samples! They bring out the worst in people. Why can’t people just calmly swing on by the sample stand to get their free food and move on peace? I wish I knew. Personally, if this was my time to share my pet peeves about Costco samples (which I guess it kind of is now) it’d be to take only one, people!! Sorry to your mom who’s down in the next aisle, she has to come get her own. It irks me to no end when I want to get a sample and someone greedily took three before me so now I’m S.O.L.

Okay, okay. But what do actual Costco employees have to say on the matter?

Fortunately for you, one brave Costco team member took to Reddit to share. Quit asking them to customize your sample! It’s free freaking food and most of the time they have to prepare it a specific way. Certain brands pay to get their food passed out so they can’t just skip half of the sample. They’re also not going to take the time to cater to your every whim. They’ve got to crank those puppies out. Just take what they put out and make your own customization down the way like a normal person.

Don’t like it? Keep on walking!

No one’s making you grab the free food. While we’re talking about it, give them some space. Do the normal thing and just walk by a thousand times until they put out the food, then go in. For Pete’s sake, let people get by. And one last thing, take care of your trash! I don’t want to see it laying around the aisles. Ugh!
