When the US Department of Health and Human Services and the Food and Drug Administration announced in 2025 that it was working to remove all artificial dyes from foods in the next couple of years, food companies sprang into action. Brands like Little Debbie and retailers like Aldi have since announced that they’d be removing key ingredients from their foods and giving their products a refresh, all in pursuit of items that fit in with this next step in food evolution.

But what about Jell-O? How could this lurid, jiggly food, which is made with artificial flavorings, sweeteners, and food dyes, ever feel more natural? Well, now, that’s happening, with the debut of Jell-O Simply. Here’s what you need to know about this new product.

Jell-O Simply: Same Jell-O, Less Stuff

Jell-O Simply is the brand’s next step in its product evolution, and is specifically aimed at families and younger parents looking to make more forward-thinking choices about their desserts. “We know families are looking for treats that strike the right balance between great taste and ingredients they can feel good about – and they don’t want to sacrifice the brands they know and love to get there,” Kraft Heinz’s head of marketing, desserts, Kathryn O’Brien, said in a press release. “JELL-O Simply delivers everything people love about JELL-O – the delicious taste, the iconic jiggle and the vibrant fun – now made with no artificial sweeteners or FD&C colors.”

Kraft Heinz calls Jell-O Simply the next step in its “modernization journey,” but that doesn’t mean it’s sacrificing classic flavors – nor the very classic vibe of its products. It’ll feel the same, but just with none of the synthetic ingredients, 25% less sugar, and with real fruit juice included. Now, doesn’t that sound nice?

Tell Us About The Products!

Okay! I’m getting to that. Included in the line-up are:

  • JELL-O Simply Ready-to-Eat: Ready-to-go packs of Jell-O made with real fruit juice, which come in classic Orange and new Raspberry Lemonade and Blueberry. These will cost approximately $3.99 for a 4-pack, and they’re available now.
  • JELL-O Simply Gelatin and Instant Pudding Mixes: You didn’t think Jell-O would forget about its mixes, did you? Available from August, you can grab these in Vanilla, Chocolate, Banana, and Strawberry, for approximately $2.24 per box.

I don’t know about you, but if these new Jell-O Simply options taste the same, then this all feels like kind of a win-win, guys. Let us know once you’ve tried ’em. Now, if it could just release its new Birthday Cake Flavored Pudding in a Simply version, then we’d be sorted.
