This Banana Nutella Nothing Bundt Cake Isn’t Nutty Enough

Considering Nothing Bundt Cakes released their fan-favorite (and my second all-time favorite) Banana Pudding Cake earlier this year, I wasn’t expecting a second banana cake from the bundtery so soon. Despite the memory of that dearly beloved treat still being fresh in my head, I have a new banana-based offering from Nothing Bundt Cakes in front of me to review. Let’s crack open this iconic clamshell and see whether banana and Nutella can coexist peacefully in the same cake.

New Nothing Bundt Cake!

Pros: Obviously, this is a good cake. This seems to use the same banana-based cake as the all-timer Banana Pudding I reviewed back in March; if not, it’s similarly dense and luxurious. The extra Nutella drizzle atop the cream cheese frosting crown adds an additional ooey-gooey factor that will put your tongue to work cleaning your utensil.

Cons: For all that Nutella is showcased in the title, there really isn’t much of it throughout this cake. Between a thin drizzle on top and a pocket at the core, Nutella is barely a factor in the average bite. I wish this did anything as well as the Banana Pudding Bundtlet did everything.

The dehydrated banana chip garnish is a curious problem; the atmosphere surrounding this super-moist cake is so strong that the chip is lightly rehydrated by the time you eat it. The texture of a dried-then-undried banana slice is… unique, to be kind.

How can I get my hands on this new bundt cake?

Unfortunately, at the time of publication, this cake is no longer available at Nothing Bundt Cakes. The Banana Prepared with NUTELLA cakes were produced in small quantities for a limited time, and the offer ended on May 31st. Luckily for all of us, the space left behind by this new cake will be filled starting June 1st with a new S’mores Made With Hershey’s cake. We’ll also see Peach Cobbler, Cinnamon Roll, Lemon Raspberry, and Turtle Cheesecake Swirl cakes between now and mid-August.
