Five Guys isn’t really one to mess with its core offer. Generally, any changes to its items come from people ordering via its quote-unquote “secret menu,” which still uses the core ingredients in every store (although it has recently changed its fries, and people aren’t best pleased). When you compare it to the likes of Taco Bell, which seems hell-bent on offering hybrid dishes engineered to cater to…everyone?, it feels positively traditional.

Now and again, though, it does mix things up – and it’s just done that in the form of a new shake flavor. Five Guys has just dropped a limited-time blackberry-flavored milkshake mix-in, and by all accounts, it’s a good’un. Shall we get into it?

Five Guys Blackberry Shake Mix-In

Five Guys’ new blackberry shake mix-in is a summer addition to its menu, and one that’s designed to give your drink a fruity twist. The chain says that “it pairs well with strawberry, peanut butter or banana,” and that you can pair it with any of its Be other shake mix-ins. Wanna combine it with Oreos, or salted caramel, or bacon? Be our guest. The thought of mixing bacon and blackberries feels slightly stomach-churning to us, but you can do what you want, people! It’s 2026! The world is in chaos! There are no rules anymore!

Although Five Guys was founded in Arlington, Virginia, it’s been a West Coast mainstay for a while now – and it keeps it that way with this new mix-in. It’s using real Oregon-grown Marion blackberries to make it. No sign of a Marionberry pie just yet at the burger chain, but hey – stranger things have happened.

It’s A Hit!

The new blackberry shake mix-in has just started rolling out, so reviews have been a little thin on the ground thus far. Those who have tried it, though, have been fans. “I’ve had a few of the blackberry shakes, and they’re absolutely to die for, 10/10 my favorite one,” said one person on Reddit. Another said that they thought that the blackberry flavor was a little too mild, but that could be because there wasn’t enough mix-in added to the shake.

This likely won’t last long once the summer’s out, so if you like the thought of a blackberry milkshake (and why wouldn’t you? Blackberries are wholly underrated), then it’s time to get yourself down there and into that store. Just…yeah. Maybe keep an eye on those combos.
