The places that SPAM (or, rather, Hormel, which owns the brand) goes to are diverse, to say the least. A couple of years ago, few would have expected, say, flip flops inspired by canned lunch meat, or SPAM hot dogs, or SPAM flavored with BBQ sauce – but here we are, in mid-2026, with all of those things very much in existence. SPAM has well and truly run with its trendy nature, and for that, I say fair play. I respect the creativity.

Now, SPAM’s at it again, with a partnership with Hello Kitty. This one’s very cute. Here’s what you need to know.
SPAM x Hello Kitty
The canned meat brand and the media franchise have joined forces to launch a limited-edition SPAM & Hello Kitty can, as part of a campaign it’s dubbing “Tour de Sizzle.” The idea behind the campaign is that Hello Kitty and SPAMMY (who is the official mascot of SPAM, and is an anthropomorphic can of the stuff – yep, really) are embarking on a “global food journey,” during which they try various recipes from around the world that feature the product.
As Hormel says in its press release, this campaign is “anchored” by the TourdeSizzle.com website, which is full of easter eggs and exclusive content. The “global food journey” of it all takes the form of interactive postcards stuck to the cartoon fridge on the website, where you can find recipes for dishes like SPAM poutine and SPAM musubi. If you click on the stove, you can also get a pop-up to enter the Tour de Sizzle sweepstakes, which gives you a chance to win an exclusive bundle and/or limited edition items, and which you can throw your hat in the ring for until June 23. Fun!
Just Tell Us About This New Can!
The centerpiece of the campaign is, as mentioned, a new branded can of 25% Less Sodium SPAM, which features Hello Kitty (whose real name is Kitty White, in case you didn’t know) on the packaging. To be honest, the new packaging is the only differentiating factor here: The SPAM inside is exactly the same, as far as I can tell, as the standard lower-sodium flavor. But it makes a nice collector’s item if you’re into that kind of thing, and given that SPAM lasts for years, it’s a collectible that you can actually keep. If you’ve always wanted your luncheon meat to be a little bit more cartoony, now’s your time.
