Now, listen, I’ve lived in Florida for over 75% of my life at this point, so I think that at least in terms of a grab-and-go meal from Publix, I’m practically a professional at this point. From working in strip malls surrounding multiple Publix, road trips up and down the Florida coast, and last minute Publix runs before hitting the beach, I’m your gal for an easy Publix lunch recommendation. I’ll cover all of the bases and deals to give you five options for the perfect lunch.

- Spicy Tuna Sushi Roll
-
The spicy tuna roll from Publix is pretty basic. There are 10 pieces and the sushi is filled with tuna and crunchy cucumbers. The whole thing is topped with a spicy mayo, which I can confidently say has a mild spice. Feel free to kick it up a notch with the wasabi, but, as is, this roll is universally palatable to people a bit more adverse to spice. The best part is that on Wednesdays you can participate in what may be the best deal Publix has to offer: $5 sushi rolls. All of the sushi is made in house daily, so while it may still taste like some pretty basic grocery store sushi, on Wednesdays it’s worth every bit of that five dollars for light, satisfying lunch.
- Publix Deli Italian Pinwheel
-
Again for the lighter lunch options, Publix has you covered with a meal that won’t leave you feeling sluggish throughout the day. The option that I’m almost guaranteed to be reaching for is these pinwheels. There are four of them in a pack and they are filled with assorted Italian deli meats, a bit of standard fresh vegetables, and a delicious pesto aioli. They’re yummy, fresh, and leave you satisfied without being bogged down by anything too heavy. A mid-day pick-me-up with great flavor. They’re perfect for on-the-go munching.
- Boar’s Head Grab and Go Sandwich, Turkey
-
Of the ready-to-eat options at Publix, anything labeled with the Boar’s Head logo is almost a guaranteed hit. The flavorful and high-quality deli meat brings simple sandwiches to new heights, as is with this sandwich. The Ovengold Turkey Breast might even be the most quintessential Publix deli meat of them all and that’s what this sandwich is filled with. The thinly-sliced turkey is layered alongside Vermont cheddar, fresh and crispy lettuce, all tucked inside soft multigrain bread. It’s simple. It’s basic. It’s a classic for a reason. And while it might not be the most exciting, it’s gonna get you (and any picky eaters in your life) through the day, no questions asked.
- Boar’s Head EverRoast Chicken Cransational, Grab and Go Croissant
-
On the note of Boar’s Head, my personal favorite offering that they have at Publix is the Cransational Chicken Salad. Put it on a croissant and it’s hard to think of a better lunch. Now, Publix has already done that for you. Available as a grab-and-go option, the sandwich is loaded with flavor, fresh meat, and convenience. No sacrifice needed for this delicious lunch.
- Boar’s Head Ultimate Sub
-
What would a Publix list even be if pub subs didn’t make it? Frankly, I do think pub subs are a bit less convenient of an option for lunch, because you either have to go in store to build your own sub or have the forethought to order the sandwich 30 to 40 minutes before your lunch break starts. Overall, chances are that you’re going to be taking time out of your day that you might not have on a simple lunch break. But again, for some, pub subs are the name of the lunch game. I chose the Boar’s Head Ultimate Sub to recommend because it has a little bit of something to please everyone―turkey, ham, and roast beef. Fully customizable in both sizes and toppings, it’s guaranteed to leave you satisfied. My personal recommendation for this one is to never forget the Boar’s Head sub sauce.
