The Best Things We Ate This Week (October 23-27)

Every week, the Sporked team sidles up to the tasting table and sets out to find the absolute best of the best packaged foods, the gold hidden in the grocery aisles. Each week we’ll bring you five standouts that truly rocked our taste buds and changed our lives—or at least our buying habits. Here are the best things we ate this week.

Pioneer Roasted Chicken Gravy Mix

This stuff is a blast of flavor straight to the dome. It’s super salty and incredibly rich. It’s the ideal gravy for mashed potatoes. The creaminess and saltiness are the perfect potato pairing. Get this and save time cooking Thanksgiving dinner.

Stonewall Kitchen Fig & Ginger Jam

What a lovely jam for a cheese board. It has the taste and texture of classic fig jam with a little added warmth from the ginger. This would go great with nearly any cheese. It would also be delightful on a sandwich or panini. Heck, you could even put this stuff on pancakes and it would be delish!

Maille Honey Dijon Mustard

This is the best honey dijon mustard out there. It’s no surprise, though: Maille also makes the best regular dijon mustard out there! This iteration of their famous dijon is the perfect balance of tangy and sweet. I took this stuff home after work and ate it on a turkey sandwich, and I was in heaven.

Kirkland Signature Shrimp Tray

If you are buying shrimp cocktail at the grocery store, you better be buying the Kirkland Signature shrimp tray. It is, hands down, the best shrimp cocktail you can buy at the grocery store. The taste, texture, and quality are leaps and bounds above everything else.

Trader Joe’s Chevre with Honey

This Trader Joe’s goat cheese lightly sweetened with honey is perfection. It has just the right amount of sweetness. You could put this on a cheese board or use it as the filling in a cheese danish. Personally, I just want to eat it with a spoon. That’s how delicious it tastes!
