Lunchables You Cook?! We Tried the New Lunchables Grilled Cheesies

You read that right…there’s a new Lunchables option that you cook in the microwave! We tried the new Lunchables grilled cheese sandwiches to see if they are actually worth the effort.

They come in two different flavors: original grilled cheese and pepperoni pizza grilled cheese. And, just to warn you now, there are no sides, drinks, or desserts in these Lunchables. Here are the results of our Lunchables taste test:

Lunchables Crispy Original Grilled Cheesies

If you don’t have the time to assemble and cook a grilled cheese but really want to eat one, these new Lunchables might be an option for you.

Pros: The cheese does get melty. The bread is very buttery. I think this would taste nice dipped into tomato soup. Plus, you don’t have to worry about burning the bread in the microwave like you might in a skillet.

Cons: The bread doesn’t really get crispy. I had high hopes since they use the Hot Pocket sleeve technology, but no luck. And while it is buttery, it might be a little too buttery. It starts to get greasy. You also have to eat it ASAP. It starts to harden if it sits for too long. Lastly, I still can’t get on board with these not having desserts and drinks.

New Product!

Lunchables Crispy Pepperoni Pizza Grilled Cheesies

If you love the pizza Lunchables but wish it was hot, this new Lunchables is for you. It tastes almost exactly like that, except the bread is much nicer than the Lunchables pizza crust.

Pros: It’s fun! It has a decent amount of filling and it does taste like a pizza Lunchables. I feel like this would be an easy and tasty thing for a middle schooler to heat up after school.

Cons: This is definitely not as good as many other foods you could quickly microwave for an afternoon snack, so I simply would not reach for it. This could be a pro or con depending on who you talk to, but the sauce in this is the iconic, extremely sweet Lunchables pizza sauce.
