I go to bat for many grocery stores for party prep but in my soul, there’s nowhere else I’d rather be than Trader Joe’s. Unless I’m feeding a ton of people. Then that receipt at TJ’s is going to get mighty hefty. Nonetheless, it’s a party kind of place. They always have fun options in stock and you can get a little of everything to feed every palette. Naturally then, I had to head over to Trader Joe’s to get some ideas for this one. Here are the best things I found at Trader Joe’s to help you celebrate July 4th.

Trader Joe’s Roasted Garlic & Pesto Pizza with Deep Fried Crust
In an ideal world, this would be a chance for us to make pizzas in a pizza oven in our backyard! I live in Los Angeles though and I am not in that sort of tax bracket―so some adjustment is in order. Trader Joe’s pepperoni pizza may be our favorite pizza from their lineup but the roasted garlic and pesto pizza with deep fried crust sounds more ideal for a backyard Fourth of July setup. Cut this up into many small squares and pass it out to your friends!
Hardwood Smoked Pulled Pork
Can you believe that I’ve gotten this far into the Fourth of July season without mentioning pulled pork once? That feels like a problem I need to fix immediately. Pulled pork sandwiches served up for July 4th just feel so right for the soul. It’s warming, filling, and the perfect thing to get you sorted on a summer night. This set from Trader Joe’s makes it easy for you. All you have to do is heat, serve, and don’t forget to slather on a heavy layer of BBQ sauce to go with it.
Trader Joe’s Chips in a Pickle
While our ranking of Trader Joe’s potato chips may be carefully crafted, it does not lend itself to fun! We want fun at our July 4th party. TJ’s kettle cooked potato chips may be the best chip overall―I’m calling an audible. Let’s get the more fun dill pickle flavored chips and have a good time in the backyard.
Cookies & Creme Cookie Mix
I’m a little biased because I’m a cookies and creme freak but overall I like the idea of utilizing Trader Joe’s boxed mixes for the Fourth of July festivities. Objectively, this one’s pretty good―though I will admit it falls short of the Everything but the Kitchen Sink mix, but that was damn near perfect. A soldier gone too soon (though I have confidence it’ll be back again one day). Bake these cookies up before the chaos of the day starts to save yourself some prep time when it truly matters.
Watermelon Lemonade Sparkling Water
Oof, I really saved my behind on this one. Trader Joe’s also has sparkling water that comes in liter bottles that I almost went to bat for. Unfortunately the flavor options in the canned version are a lot more advantageous for our overall goal of fun. You’re able to find most of the flavors from the liter bottles in the canned and any that don’t make the shift are not that exciting. The cans themselves get exclusive flavors like watermelon lemonade and black cherry vanilla that would be ideal for our July 4th hang.
