I mean it’s not that hard to guess which “special city” gets this one. 9/10 times the answer, unfortunately, is going to be either Los Angeles or New York City. Surprise, surprise―this time it’s New York City! It’s still worth sharing the news so that the lucky few who get to partake can take advantage of a pretty dang good setup. To celebrate National Ice Cream Day, Yasso is taking its frozen Greek yogurt to the streets!

The Street Pop Up

You read that right. Yasso, the frozen Greek yogurt company, is taking to the streets to celebrate National Ice Cream Day. Rather, to try to one-up the O.G. on its own national holiday. That’s pretty bold!

From July 19th through the 21st, Yasso’s froyo truck will be popping up in “NYC’s hottest froyo neighborhoods.” Specifically, the timeline will be:

Sunday, July 19th ― West Village, Greenwich Ave & 7th Ave from 12:00PM. to 6:00PM ET.

Monday, July 20th ― Upper East Side, 86th St. & Lexington Ave on the SW side from 2:00PM to 10:00PM ET.

Tuesday, July 21st ― Village/NoHo, 6th Ave & West 3rd St.

I regrettably don’t know enough about NYC’s neighborhoods to know if these places are froyo destinations, so I’ll have to take their word on it. Hopefully the real NYC froyo-heads will sound off in the comments to let me know how they did.

At each of the popups Yasso will be giving out free samples of Yasso Spoonables loaded with better-for-you toppings from Unreal and Catalina Crunch. To extend the froyo love, Yasso will also be giving away gift cards to local froyo shops (which are obviously going to be right next door if you’re in the heart of the froyo lover neighborhoods) and Yasso coupons to restock your freezers. Yasso’s really aiming to celebrate all things froyo on…National Ice Cream Day.

National Froyo Day?

I respect the move from Yasso. Although I am a little jealous that NYC got this one instead of Los Angeles. I should consider that they went for froyo loving neighborhoods specifically and we all know Los Angeles eaters don’t eat sugar! Ugh. I do, though. Why didn’t you take that into account? Just in case, I’ll keep my July 25th free in hopes that they decide to take a road trip down after they’re done in New York.
