Fireball Is Bringing The Heat With 5 Brand New Flavors

I feel like most people have some kind of distinct association with Fireball Whisky. Whether it was a fun night with friends or your personal reason to never indulge in the spicy liquor, most of us know what is up with Fireball and it’s Hot Tamales-like flavor.

But, for anyone less familiar with the drink, Fireball is an intensely cinnamon-spiced whiskey with quite a high ABV. Since it’s whisky (a malt liquor), it’s commonly taken as a shot or made into an intense cocktail. The excitement around Fireball now pertains to its new flavors that bring richness and sweetness to the popular liquor.

Shoot Or Sip

Three new flavors that will be included in the new launch from Fireball, each of which have a sweet, fruity twist or gourmand flavor. But let’s talk about the tropical addition to the fireball lineup first. The Fireball “Shoot or Sip” Pineapple & Cinnamon beverage combines the typical Fireball spiciness with sweet, juicy pineapple flavor. Since it’s sweeter and more fruit forward, the company says that it’s suitable for shooting back, as is typically done with the classic flavor, or sipping for a more well-rounded flavor palette. It’s a tropical treat we’re excited to get our hands on and try in the summer heat. 

Adding to their new fruity flavors, Fireball is also releasing their Peach & Cinnamon flavor. Peach is an eternally delicious pairing to cinnamon, and takes savory pairings like spicy food very well. I’m very excited to see if the peach flavor is more natural or if it is aggressively chemical because this has the capacity to be a contender for the new number one Fireball flavor for me. Again, with this flavor, it is considered a sipping drink as well as a shooter, so we would have to assume that it’s a bit more mild than the aggressive cinnamon alcoholic burn.

Three New Dessert Flavors

A bit more questionably, Fireball is adding three distinct gourmand flavors to their catalog. The French Toast, Banana Bread, and Cinnamon Roll flavors are going to be difficult for me to stand behind until Sporked has been able to do a proper taste test. Aggressively sweet flavors like these have a tendency to go overboard and become syrup-y and artificial, rather than pleasant.

Plus, these flavors aren’t categorized under the same “Shoot or Sip” category, so it’s safe to guess that they all have the same potency and strength of burn as the classic Fireball. The Banana Bread flavor alone has its own challenges to face as well, given the difficulty of locking down a good banana flavor through a drink that seemingly won’t have any actual bananas involved―just “natural flavors.” My fear is that it will become like a spicy Banana Laffy Taffy flavor, and I can’t say that sounds too pleasant to shoot back.
