We Spotted A Brand New (And Spicy) Chick-fil-A Chicken Addition

After all, popular fast food chains are still hopping onboard—Panda Express just brought back its Spicy Orange Chicken after a two-year hiatus. Even grocery store shoppers are clamoring for store-bought spins on hot chicken. And now, there’s a rumor that there’s about to be another newcomer in the spicy chicken space: Chick-fil-A just might be releasing its own spiced-up strips.

Everything We Know About The Rumors

Chick-fil-A is home to some already standout chicken strips and nuggets (and chicken sandwiches). But if you’re a hot chicken fan, there’s a noticeable gap on the fast food restaurant’s menu. That could soon disappear, if the rumors we’ve heard prove true.

Chick-fil-A diners in Georgia have spotted a new addition: Spicy Chick-n-Strips. 

Spicy Chick-n-Strips are the very same Chick-fil-A strips you already know (and probably order far too often, if you love a weekly Chick-fil-A meal like me), but with a spiced-up kick in their breading. They pack some heat, delivering a spicy bite that’s also slightly crispier than the original strips. It seems Chick-fil-A has amped up the breading in two ways to please crunchy fans, too.

So far, these hot strips have only appeared on the menu at a few select locations in this Southern state (and Chick-fil-A’s home market). But it’s not the first time Spicy Chick-n-Strips have popped up as a potential new menu item. A few years ago, they began testing in a handful of U.S. markets—they just never made it out of the testing phase and became widely available.

That could change this time, though. With the reappearance of Spicy Chick-n-Strips, Chick-fil-A just might’ve perfected the recipe. And since demand for hot chicken is still high, they could make their long-awaited debut.

When Will Spicy Chick-n-Strips Debut At Chick-fil-A?

There is a bit of bad news: we don’t currently have an official release date for the potential Spicy Chick-n-Strips at Chick-fil-A. As of right now, they’re only making appearances at select locations. If you don’t live near one of the Georgia locations they’re being tested at, you might not get a chance to bite into their spicy breading for a while.

Chick-fil-A tends to test new menu additions a few seasons in advance. So, while the Spicy Chick-n-Strips could make their debut as soon as this fall, odds are we’ll be waiting a little longer. It may be spring— or later—before they’re ready to hit more markets and store locations.

Plus, we don’t yet have confirmation that these spicier strips will go nationwide. Personally, I’m holding out hope that we’ll get a chance to try them before next summer’s heatwaves arrive.
