Domino’s Just Dropped The Most Unhinged Ice Cream

Ice cream is usually one of those things that gets people excited. A new flavor normally means chocolate, caramel, fruit, or some other sweet surprise. But Domino’s has gone in a completely different direction with its latest limited-edition ice cream.

The pizza chain basically looked at its most popular dip and thought, “Why not turn that into ice cream?” And the result is the Garlic & Herb Ice Cream.

Domino’s Turned Its Famous Dip Into Ice Cream

Domino’s UK unveiled the new Garlic & Herb Ice Cream on July 29th, calling it “the tastiest treat of the summer”―and it might also be the weirdest. It’s made of 250mL milk, 250mL cream, 80mL smoked maple syrup, 60g yolks, leaves and stalks from 1-2 fennel bulbs, and Maldon salt to taste. Not exactly your typical ice cream ingredients.

Instead of selling the ice cream in restaurants, Domino’s is giving fans the chance to win a tub through a special giveaway on its ice cream website. That makes this one of the hardest-to-find Domino’s menu items ever.

As strange as this sounds, Domino’s has pulled similar stunts before. The company has previously released a Garlic & Herb Easter egg and even a Garlic & Herb Dip advent calendar, which shows that there are very few foods it won’t pair with its popular sauce.

Genius Or Completely Bonkers?

It didn’t take long for social media to explode following the launch of the Garlic & Herb Ice Cream.

Over on X, many people admitted they thought the announcement had to be some weird April Fool’s prank. Another X user said “This would either be the most disgusting thing ever or weirdly delicious, there is no inbetween for stuff like this.” At the same time, plenty of loyal Garlic & Herb Dip fans said they genuinely wanted to try it.

TikTok reactions have been just as entertaining. TikToker @emiiyjade says the Garlic & Herb Ice Cream tastes exactly like garlic butter, while her partner tried it with pepperoni sprinkles and had to spit it out at first, before hesitatingly taking a second spoon.

I think that mix of curiosity, confusion, and excitement is exactly what makes this launch so much fun. Even people who have no interest in eating garlic ice cream still want to see someone else try it.

The Weirdest Ice Cream Of The Summer?

Every summer brings a few limited-time food launches that get everyone talking. This year, Domino’s may have stolen the crown. Garlic & Herb Ice Cream probably won’t replace chocolate, cookies and cream, or mint chip anytime soon. Still, it doesn’t have to.
