We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It also happens to be my favorite so we’re not going down that path. Sorry to all you late risers who like to skip it. This isn’t for you! This is actually quite an easy choice when you really think about it. The worst meal of the day is, in fact, lunch and I’m here to tell you why.

Don’t Ruin Your Appetite
A phrase you’ve often heard. Don’t ruin your appetite. And when are you most likely to fill up and ruin your appetite? During the day! The first conundrum we face when it comes to lunch is how much to eat. You can’t eat too much or you’re going to be hungry again for dinner at 10 at night. You can’t eat too little or your stomach is going to be rumbling all day long. It’s an unwinnable battle.
Office Politics Ruin All the Fun
Most people don’t have the luxury of eating lunch at home which means they’ve got to do some serious thinking. You can’t whip a full spread out for lunch or your coworkers are going to start looking at you weird. It can’t be too smelly, it can’t be too spicy, and it can’t personally offend Karen in HR or you’re going to get written up. There’s just no winning.
Left Over Leftovers
Lunch is so low on the totem pole of meals that most people just leave their leftovers to solve the problem. How can lunch try to pretend it’s not the worst meal when it’s just getting your sloppy seconds from dinner? And you and I both know you’re reheating that in the microwave regardless of if it’d be better whipped up in an air fryer or on the stovetop. All you’re getting is a lump of lukewarm mush, yummm.
Let’s say you are going to make something fresh for lunch. What are the two most likely scenarios? Salad or a sandwich. How boring! Just put me to sleep right under my desk at that rate. I’d rather go hungry and hold out for dinner at that rate.
We’re All Thinking It
Just picture a typical breakfast, lunch, and dinner in your mind. For breakfast you’ll see a bountiful stack of pancakes, slammin’ side of bacon, and thirst quenching orange juice. Lunch gets a sad, lonely little salad that you’ll have to choke down. Then for dinner you’ve got a juicy, perfectly cooked steak, a filling side of potatoes, and that same exact salad that’s still left over for lunch. There’s just no way that anything is worse than freaking lame ol’ lunch.
