The seasons might be shifting toward autumn in the grocery stores and in the aisles of home decorating stores, but at Crumbl they still have their feet firmly planted in summer still… Eurosummer in fact. That’s right, this week’s Crumbl menu theme is a tour de Europe.

Each cookie represents a different European country and one of their representative iconic desserts. And while their does seem to be a disproportionate amount of Italian-inspired cookies, we’ll let it slide because their creativity really shines this week. So lets break down this interesting new menu together and relish in this last little stretch of summer, shall we?
Six New Flavors
- Creme Brûlée Cookie — Representing France for Crumbl this week is their Creme Brûlée Cookie. This cookie is served cold as a creme brûlée should be and the creme brûlée topping is torched and crackly. Underneath the creme brûlée is a brown sugar cookie partially rolled in turbinado sugar before baking.
- Cannoli Cookie — This is the first of three cookies representing the flavors of Italy and we’re first going to travel to Sicily. Of course, one of the most quintessential Italian desserts is the classic cannoli. At their most basic the crunchy, delightfully airy shells are filled with a luscious ricotta filling. And that’s exactly what Crumbl has tried to mirror with this cookie. It’s actually two waffle cone-rolled cookie thins sandwiched together with a traditional cannoli cream filling in the middle. And to play off perhaps the most iconic cannoli flavors of all, the edges are rolled in chocolate chips.
- Chocolate Tiramisu Cake — Now listen folks, I understand and respect that Crumbl’s company policy is largely influenced by the founders’ LDS faith. And because of that we don’t really get any coffee flavors out of Crumbl. But why then would they put a cake on the menu with a dominant flavor of coffee? It really makes no good sense and even saying it’s tiramisu-inspired seems sacrilegious to Italians everywhere. The only this inspired about it is that it’s layered. Otherwise everything’s all wrong. The dessert is two pieces of stacked vanilla cake layered with chocolate whipped frosting and topped with mascarpone whipped cream and a dusting of cocoa. It’s a chocolate-vanilla cake, plain and simple. I’m crying in Italian over here.
- Swedish Candy Cookie ft. BUBS™ — Now for a quick turnaround from that Italian disappointment Crumbl is officially playing with my heartstrings. My lovely partner is Scandinavian and I’d be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge the hold that pick-and-mix candies have on their culture. Bubs candies are a key part of that, and this cookie is reminding me that I need to book another trip out that way. Not only is it inspired by Bubs, but this cookie sounds nicely well-designed after one of the most essential Bubs flavors. It’s a marbled strawberry-vanilla cookie with the strawberry portion being flavored with real freeze dried strawberries. The topping is a swirled strawberry-vanilla mousse and the whole thing is sprinkled a sour sugar. Naturally, there’s an individual piece of Strawberry Vanilla BUBS™ on top of each cookie.
- Vanilla Chocolate Gelato Cookie — I can’t think of Italy without thinking of gelato and I guess neither can Crumbl. For the base of this cookie, they’re using a brown sugar cookie rolled in a waffle cone streusel. Italian stracciatella inspires their vanilla mousse topping with shards of chocolate mixed in. To top it all off, it’s drizzled with a decadent chocolate and given a final sprinkle of waffle cone streusel.
- Stroopwafel Cookie — What better dessert to take cookie inspiration from than one that already has the same shape? I think stroopwafels were a natural choice for this collection and Crumbl’s keeping this cookie as simple as can be, just as the source material is. Two chewy sugar-dipped cookie thins sandwich a golden caramel filling… and that’s it. The question still remains though: will the Netherlands be proud?
- Pink Sugar Cookie — It wouldn’t be a week at Crumbl without the Pink Sugar Cookie on the menu. It’s the classic tender almond sugar cookie with a swoop of silky and delicately pink almond frosting on top.
- Chocolate Chip Cookie — The new Crumbl recipe for chocolate chip cookies returns again this week under the always available “Classic Flavors” portion of the menu. In mourning the loss of the Chocolate Brownie Batter Cookie and the S’mores Cookie from the returning flavors, Crumbl knew they’d have to up the ante with their chocolate chip. The new recipe takes the brown sugar cookie dough and mixes in two forms of chocolate—milk chocolate chips and semi-sweet chocolate chunks. As always, this one’s served warm.
