Cheez-It is taking over a Los Angeles mall food court for an entire month and the menu sounds like someone was given unlimited access to a box of crackers and absolutely no reason to exercise restraint.

The snack brand is teaming up with Chain, the American Pop Cuisine brand founded by B.J. Novak, to create the Cheez-It Court at Westfield Topanga Mall. From September 2nd through September 30th, the pop-up will serve three mall-food-court classics that have been given the Cheez-It treatment.
And yes, one of them is a cinnamon roll.
There’s A Cheez-It Cinnamon Roll
The Cheez-Y-Bun starts with a warm cinnamon roll, which is already doing perfectly well on its own, and then gets covered in cream cheese frosting seasoned with Cheez-It Extra Cheesy seasoning.
It’s finished with shortbread crumble, salted caramel crunch, and an actual Cheez-It cracker on top.
So you’ve got cinnamon, cream cheese, caramel, shortbread, and aggressively cheesy cracker seasoning all happening at once.
Not the mall cinnamon roll I remember, and one that may take me some coaxing to try.
Then There’s A Cheez-It Covered Hot Dog
The Crunchy Cheez-Dog takes its inspiration from the viral Korean corn dog rather than a traditional food court hot dog.
It’s made with a premium Wagyu hot dog coated in a crispy panko and Cheez-It cracker crust, then finished with ketchup, mustard, a pickle, Cheez-It Extra Cheesy crackers, and more Cheez-It seasoning.
In other words, if you thought a hot dog on a stick was already pretty easy to eat while wandering around a mall, Cheez-It has found a way to make it a good deal more complicated.
And Yes, There’s A Cheesesteak
The third item is the Cheez-Steak, which takes the classic Philly cheesesteak and adds Cheez-It to pretty much every part of it that will allow it.
It comes with sliced ribeye, American cheese, grilled onions, and pickled jalapeños on a toasted hoagie roll seasoned with Cheez-It Extra Cheesy seasoning.
There’s also dill pickle aioli and a crumble made from Cheez-It Hot & Spicy crackers and chives.
So while it’s still recognizably a cheesesteak, it has been pushed several steps further into Cheez-It territory.
The Whole Thing Is Very Y2K
The food is only part of the Cheez-It Court. The pop-up is designed as a throwback to the mall food courts of the late ’90s and early 2000s, complete with Y2K-inspired details, colorful Cheez-It-covered counters, and nostalgic employee uniforms.
It’s part of Chain’s six-month residency at Westfield Topanga Mall, and Cheez-It is the first brand to get its own custom food stall as part of the rotating collaborations.
The Cheez-It Court will be open every day from September 2nd through September 30th, although hours vary by day.
It’s open from 3PM to 8PM Monday and Tuesday, 12PM to 8PM Wednesday and Thursday, and 12PM to 9PM Friday through Sunday.
Not Just Los Angeles
If you can’t make it to Westfield Topanga Mall, Cheez-It is at least giving everyone else a consolation prize.
After the Cheez-It Court opens, the brand plans to publish recipes for all three creations on its website so you can attempt to recreate the food court experience at home.
Which means you can make a Cheez-It cinnamon roll, hot dog, or cheesesteak in the privacy of your own kitchen without having to explain to anyone why you’re standing in a Los Angeles mall at 3PM waiting for a hot dog covered in crackers.
The Cheez-It Court is open through September 30th, so if you’re in the Los Angeles area and have ever wondered what would happen if a mall food court got taken over by a cheese cracker, this is finally your chance to find out.
