Zaxby’s is making its candy-filled strawberry milkshake available across the country for the first time.

The chain is bringing its NERDS Strawberry Milkshake to locations nationwide starting Aug. 31st, after first testing the candy-covered creation in select markets last year. And when I say candy-covered, I mean it. The hand-spun strawberry milkshake is blended with Original NERDS and topped with whipped cream, NERDS Gummy Clusters, Rainbow NERDS, and a maraschino cherry.

So yes, the milkshake is technically the vehicle here, but the candy is clearly driving.

The NERDS Are Just The Tip Of The Iceberg

The NERDS aren’t simply sitting politely on top of the milkshake, either. Original NERDS are blended throughout the strawberry base, meaning you get those little bursts of sweet-and-tangy crunch as you drink.

Then there’s everything happening on top.

Zaxby’s finishes the shake with whipped cream, NERDS Gummy Clusters, Rainbow NERDS, and a maraschino cherry. It’s creamy, crunchy, chewy, fruity, and probably several other textures that would require a food science degree to properly categorize.

But we’re not here to categorize things. We’re here to investigate candy in a milkshake.

The Shake Is Finally Going Nationwide

Zaxby’s first introduced the NERDS Strawberry Milkshake in select markets in 2025, and it seems people liked it enough that the chain decided the rest of the country deserved a turn.

Starting Aug. 31st, the limited-time shake will be available at Zaxby’s locations nationwide. So if you heard about this last year and spent the intervening months wondering why you couldn’t get one, your oddly specific wait is over.

The shake can be ordered on its own or alongside Zaxby’s Famous Chicken Fingerz and Crinkle Fries.

Which sounds like a well-rounded meal.

It’s Giving Summer Dessert

Zaxby’s is positioning the shake as one last taste of summer, which feels appropriate for a strawberry milkshake that’s had a party at the candy store.

The sweet-and-tart strawberry base gets some extra punch from the NERDS, while the Gummy Clusters add a chewy element to the otherwise creamy drink. The Rainbow NERDS bring even more crunch, and the cherry is there because we’re still legally required to put one on top of a milkshake. I don’t make the rules.

The whole thing is certainly more involved than your average fast-food shake.

You Have A Limited Time To Try It

As is usually the case with fast-food collaborations, the NERDS Strawberry Milkshake is only sticking around for a limited time.

You can get it at participating Zaxby’s locations nationwide beginning Aug. 31st, whether you’re pairing it with chicken fingers or simply showing up because you saw a picture of a strawberry milkshake absolutely buried in candy and needed to investigate.

I can’t say I blame you.

After all, if we’re going to put NERDS in a milkshake, we might as well go all the way.
