Ghost Toast Kit Kat: Scary Good or Spookily Bad?

Sound the alarms, there’s a new Kit Kat flavor in town. I’ve been looking forward to this one for a while now; the only downside of being on the candy news beat is learning about innovations long before they’re available to try. Well, thanks to the oft-confusing way grocery stores stock their seasonal goods, bags of snack-sized Ghost Toast Kit Kat bars are hitting stores now. I skipped right past the pedestrian Werewolf Tracks Reese’s Cups and questionably-timed Harry Potter Hershey Bars for the Kit Kat flavor that’s been haunting my dreams for months now. I cannot wait to find out what “Cinnamon Toast Flavored Creme” tastes like…

New Kit Kat Flavor!

Ghost Toast Kit Kat

While “Ghost Toast” isn’t officially Cinnamon Toast Crunch flavored, we all know what’s really going on here. This wouldn’t be the first cereal-flavored Kit Kat to hit stores either; a similarly-generic Fruity Cereal Kit Kat was released back in 2021. Will this live up to that release?

Pros: Hot damn, they pulled it off. This is the best new Kit Kat flavor I’ve had in a long time (since Blueberry Muffin, to be exact). I know the creme is what got infused with the flavoring, but I’d swear they replaced the regular wafers with new ones made of pure Cinnamon Toast Crunch. If you’re a CTC fan, this is going to be right up your alley—so much so that I’ll warn you against picking up a bag this early. There’s no chance in hell these are going to survive in your house long enough to see a single trick-or-treater.

Cons: This is negligible, but the cream is peach-colored. With a name like Ghost Toast, you’d expect either white or some kind of speckly brown, right? Unfortunately, the “white Kit Kat” slot is already taken by the most boring Kit Kat ever made: Breaking Bones, which features the standard Kit Kat wafers enrobed in…white creme. No flavor, no color, nothing. If you give those out this Halloween, remember to clean the egg off your car before it ruins the paint.

Where can I get Ghost Toast Kit Kat for myself?

So far, I’ve only seen this new Kit Kat flavor in bags meant for trick-or-treaters. The full-size bars should be hitting shelves soon, and it’ll hit every shelf when it does. Grocery stores, gas stations, and everything in-between. A good way to find out if your retailer of choice is going to stock this flavor would be to check for the last limited-edition Kit Kat flavor: Pink Lemonade. If they have it (or an empty space still labeled with the name), there’s a very good chance Ghost Toast will take that slot here soon.
