I’m a Costco lover so you might think I’m being over dramatic but wow, Costco really outdid themselves this time. This is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in a grocery store. I actually fell to my knees and cried out to the heavens at what I was witnessing. A real modern marvel. And we’re living at the exact moment needed to experience it in person. Costco just released mini chocolate croissants and it might just be the best ever created.

Well, Mini Pain Au Chocolat
Let’s put some respect on the name! Costco takes careful consideration when they create a product from another country, so I trust them to make France proud with this version. These all butter croissants house a tiny chocolate filling and are so delightfully small that they just might be too cute to eat.
The croissants are baked fresh in house. You can really tell they mean it when you start to look at the many videos of the croissants that are circulating online. Each different Reel, TikTok, etc. show the same blueprint that just looks a little different. I’ll tell you what, though. Unfortunately for everyone else out there, my Costco appears to make the best version. The ones that I just saw in store today were perfectly golden brown and had a tantalizing sheen to them.
These mini magical morsels have been around Costco for a while. Of course, France had to have them and they’ve even made their way to Costcos in Japan. Thankfully, we’re finally being blessed with them all the way over in the States. It’s about time!
Mini, But Still Costco-Sized
Twenty of these little guys come in a package. On paper, twenty mini pain au chocolat at once sounds like a lot. In practice? It’s a whole different story. I’m not proud of the things I would do if left alone with these micro baked goods. Let’s just say we won’t be needing any tips on how to freeze this version of the Costco croissant to save them for later, that’s for sure. If you couldn’t see the crumbs that will be left in the sink then you wouldn’t have known they existed in the first place.
Get Them Fast
There’s no telling how long these mini chocolate croissants will last at Costco bakeries, especially if you’re in the Los Angeles area. I will be cleaning out every store I can drive to within a day before the end of the week. To my neighbors, consider yourselves warned and to all others, consider yourselves lucky you get to experience the wonder that is the mini chocolate croissant at Costco.
