The beverage world is jam-packed with flavor and functionality, it’s almost dizzying. You can get Yoo-Hoo with extra protein and serious energy drinks that actually taste like donuts.

And while we’ve seen lots of fun flavors hopscotch from the candy and cereal aisle to the functional nutrition beverage world, it’s more rare to see a flavor in the same brand simply introduced to a different beverage category. But that’s exactly what Bloom is doing with their Crisp Apple flavor―and fans are pumped.
Two Apples A Day, But One Is Prebiotic
As of September 16th, Bloom’s Crisp Apple is also the flavor of one of its Bloom “Pop” prebiotic sodas. As much as we’re loving the endless innovation in the beverage category, it’s genuinely reassuring to know that brands really will listen to fans (who’ve made their love of the Crisp Apple Sparkling Energy drink pretty clear; one Reddit commenter actually said “I am shocked at how good this is.”)
And fans were already responding to the brand’s Instagram announcement within an hour of its being made. As one fan pointed out, now that Crisp Apple will be in a non-caffeinated prebiotic soda, “Now I can drink my crisp apple at night with my popcorn snack and still get some sleep.” Another noted “The bloom apple energy drink is the ONLY energy drink I get…So obviously, I cannot wait for this.”
Will The Apple Stay Crisp In A Different Can?
While we definitely don’t doubt Bloom’s ability to transfer the flavor, it’ll be interesting to see just how the Crisp Apple-ness presents in the prebiotic soda. It’ll be interesting to see how the other ingredients in each category do to the flavor. The Bloom Sparkling Energy Crisp Apple contains green coffee extract, L-theanine, ginseng, apple cider vinegar, and sucralose, among a few other things―none of which seem to interrupt the flavor of crisp apple which one Reddit commenter said is the “closest thing to Martinelli’s” sparkling NA cider they’ve tasted.
The prebiotic Bloom Pop Crisp Apple, on the other hand, contains fruit juice, a tiny bit of cane sugar, and stevia for flavor profile, plus those beneficial bacteria for a happy gut. It’s interesting they’re using stevia instead of sucralose, but considering the love out there for the Crisp Apple in general, our guess is Bloom kept all the apple crispness intact, ready to “bite” into, so to speak.
