Costco is obviously a stellar choice for your grocery essentials on the cheap. They’re known for high quality products at a price that’s reasonable. Which is especially appreciated for essentials that you’ll use often. The worst thing imaginable is stocking up on something that you can’t bother stomaching. That will not be the case with these ones! Here are five basic Costco grocery essentials that you’ll save a pretty penny on compared to other stores.

Kirkland Signature Whole Milk 1 Gallon ($3.39)

You always need milk! Grabbing it at Costco saves you a few extra cents compared to the other grocery stores. For instance, my local grocery store is selling a gallon of the fresh stuff for $4.99. That’s criminal! It’s worth having a fresh gallon around, so this is a guaranteed grab every time you make it into Costco.

Kirkland Signature 24 Ct Eggs ($3.37)

This is actually insane. Two dozen eggs for $3.37! I can barely get a dozen for that price down the street. No wonder you see everyone loading up their carts with a few dozen eggs every time you’re in Costco. That’s where the real savings are! I think we may even have a contender that’s a better deal than the $1.50 hot dog combo. Just kidding, can you imagine such a thing?

Kirkland Signature Creamy Almond Butter ($9.69)

It’s no Kirkland Signature peanut butter but hey, we’ll still take a bit of their almond butter on the cheap. Costco’s creamy and rich almond butter is one you’ll actually be happy to dig into as well. We’re not looking to hide this one under a pile of smoothie ingredients. It’s the real star of the show!

Kirkland Signature Protein Bar Variety Pack ($26.49)

It’s hard to find a protein bar that comes in under a dollar and Costco is unfortunately not one to buck that trend. They can only do so much. What they can do though is get you pretty darn close. Costco’s variety pack of protein bars comes with two flavors: chocolate brownie and chocolate chip cookie dough. Which means that you’re certainly going to need a love for chocolate to enjoy but if that’s your vibe, then Costco’s got you covered.

Kirkland Signature Frozen Ground Beef Patties ($4.78/lb)

You might be able to snag ground beef for cheaper than $5 a pound if it’s on sale, but it certainly won’t be portioned out like this. I’m all for saving a buck where you can but the convenience of burger patties that you can slide right out of the freezer and onto the grill is one I will rarely give up. Just splurge a little on your seasonings, condiments, and hamburger buns and you’re in for a real treat.
