Firehouse’s Thanksgiving Turkey Sub Is (Already) Back!  

A lot of people love the sides. A lot of people, myself included, love the turkey and the sides. One thing that most of us love―some even more than the main course itself―is that next-day masterpiece of the Thanksgiving feast, the leftovers sandwich.

In fact, a lot of us even cook extra staples like mashed potatoes, stuffing, and cranberry sauce to ensure there’s plenty of the good stuff leftover so we can wake up, bleary-eyed, and still somehow construct a towering, only semi-sloppy Thanksgiving leftovers sandwich. It truly is one of the greatest sandwiches, and uses of leftovers, that ever was. Only problem? It’s a fleeting treat―it comes and goes so quick, like tryptophan-induced dreams. 

Lucky for us, this year Firehouse Subs is jumping the gun and seasonality be darned―they’ve already brought back their beloved Firehouse Thanksgiving Sub and it’s here to warm hearts and fill bellies for a limited time. 

The Firehouse Thanksgiving Leftover Sub 

Like most Firehouse Subs, this one errs on the side of hearty. It should pack the kind of gut-warming punch you’d get from a good Turkey Day meal, if in a slightly more domesticated form. 

Of course opinions vary on just what constitutes the best Thanksgiving leftovers sandwich, but most of us are happy with the basics: cranberry, turkey (if you’re a carnivore), stuffing, maybe some mayo, maybe some random sweet potato or mash, heck even a scoop of mac n’ cheese if you’re just going for it. For their part, Firehouse is keeping it classic with “premium carved turkey, buttery stuffing, and cranberry sauce piled high on a freshly toasted roll with mayo.”

Can It Taste As Good As It Looks?

Turkey and cranberry sauce amounts look generous. But considering how decadently the cranberry sauce drips over the thick-sliced turkey, we’d have to guess there’s some actual… robustness to the sandwich itself? The mayo is a classic Thanksgiving leftovers addition, good for lubricating the bite if and where the turkey or stuffing is too dry without adding too much flavor.

Remember, it’s available for a limited time (vaguely they say “fall,” at participating locations).
