Aldi can be a bit of a treasure trove, and sometimes the most unassuming items can turn out to be the best ones. Yeah, it’s got some showstoppers like its flavored cheddar cheese – but it’s also got a bunch of products that sit quietly on the shelves, tucked away from the more glamorous deli and dairy sections (is a dairy section glamorous? Hey, I’m running with it), waiting to be found, enjoyed, respected. Playing it cool. We respect it.

You might find a trio of these shy and retiring stars next time you’re in the canned bean section. Snap them up quick, though: They won’t be around for long.
Aldi Baked Beans
Currently in stock at Aldi stores are three limited-time baked bean flavors, which have been winning fans all summer long – and a lot of people are saying they should be permanent. The bean flavors in question are: Blazin’ Bacon Pinto Beans, a medium-heat affair infused with applewood bacon notes; Canyon Campfire Black Beans, a milder option that combines beans, roasted corn, and ancho peppers; and Smokey Spice Pinto Beans, the spiciest of the three, with tomato flavors and adobo spices throughout.
All three of them are affordable; all three of them are tasty. For a lot of customers, they’ve turned into a lunchtime staple or a quick, easy way to improve an evening meal, thanks to their combination of a surprisingly rounded flavor, a sense of heartiness, and a good boost of fiber. But alas! It looks as though they’ve started to disappear from shelves – and on the Aldi website, they’re now listed as sold out. If you see them in the coming days, stock up while you can.
It Gives, It Takes
These canned beans aren’t the only ones that customers are lamenting the impermanence of this year. Aldi’s Greek Chickpeas with Parsley and Cumin were also a summer staple for a lot of people, but in the last few weeks, the store has rotated them out, leaving a lot of shoppers disappointed. Canned beans are hard to make into a standout item, so the fact that Aldi has achieved four separate wins here without charging people too much is pretty impressive. We can only hope that, should they come back next year, Aldi hasn’t changed their recipes. We’ve seen more than enough of that this summer, and it feels like customers are at their wit’s end with it all.
