The last thing that you want to do when you’re shopping at Costco is to buy too much! You’re losing actual money by letting your shopping get away from you. The guilt alone from throwing out half a container of yogurt that went bad in your fridge will eat you alive for years to come. I’m not letting that happen on my watch!

I’m here to give you some actual recommendations that you’ll be excited to dig into. You’re getting to the very end of that Costco-sized bag if I have anything to say about it! These are the five items from Costco that are so good, you’ll actually finish them no matter how big of a package they come in.

Garofalo Organic Pasta Variety Pack

I get it. Dried pasta can be so uninspiring! You can only do so much with it in a short amount of time before you eventually shove it in the back of your cupboard before you toss it out when it gets old. Costco sells this variety pack that delivers over six pounds of pasta in one go. That’s a large buy-in!

Thankfully, this is genuinely good pasta. Take our word for it! Sporked’s Danny Palumbo found their spaghetti to have a springy texture and toothsome bite. This is anything but drab! Add in the fact that you can pick up Rao’s or Carbone’s pasta sauces to go with the Garofalo variety pack and you’re in for a damn good time.

UNREAL Dark Chocolate Variety Pack

Does anyone need a full pound of chocolate candies in their life? Technically no. Does your soul need it? Absolutely. It’s also hard to argue with the convenience of this variety pack from Unreal. At any moment you can reach your hand into the bag and pull out a pack of dark chocolate peanut gems, a dark chocolate caramel peanut nougat bar, or a dark chocolate peanut butter cup. Stash them into every crevice in your house for easy snacking and just take note of how noticeably better your life will be. These won’t last long.

Kirkland Italian Style Meatballs

Buying something frozen in bulk from Costco is by far the most dangerous game to play. Freezer space is truly a precious resource in a house. Technically your dry storage is near-infinite in a home. You can, after all, just start storing stuff on the counter. The freezer though? Once that space is gone, there’s no replicating it. That’s why we have to be selective with the frozen item that makes this list.

I think meatballs are the choice here. You can add meatballs into a lot of different dishes. There’s the obvious―spaghetti and meatballs, BBQ meatballs in a little crockpot for a football watch party, and Swedish meatballs. Then you’ve got meatball subs, slice them up and top your next pizza with them, or add them into a tater tot hotdish as a substitute for the ground beef! They won’t go to waste, that’s for sure.

Kirkland Signature Eggs 5-Dozen Ct

Technically these are “so good because they’re a damn good deal.” Sometimes that’s all you really need to influence your shopping at Costco. The ability to get 5 dozen eggs for $10 can quite literally keep some families alive. Solo shoppers like myself might find this purchase a little daunting but the amount of people I’ve seen with multiple of these 60-pack of eggs in their cart tells me they are definitely worth grabbing.

Kirkland Signature Microwave Popcorn

From the jump this feels like a crazy pick. The Kirkland Signature box of microwave popcorn comes with 44 bags of ready-to-pop popcorn! That’s a lot of movie nights. Think about this, though. These suckers are going to last awhile! The worst thing you’ll deal with for quite some time is maybe a few kernels in each bag won’t pop up by the time the microwave beeps. That’s fine. We can deal with that. Especially considering every other salty snack in the chip aisle comes in a mega-sized bag that’ll go stale long before you get to the bottom.
