Costco Just Added The Perfect Fall Dessert To Their Food Court

Costco is really on one with their food court lately! First, they swapped out Pepsi products for Coca-Cola, then they brought back the beloved churro, and now this?! They’re bringing a new fall treat to follow up your $1.50 hot dog combo with and it really couldn’t have been a better choice. Without further ado, I present the Costco apple pie sundae!

Apple Pie Sundae

This dessert may be simple in execution but I have high hopes for it. Costco will soon be layering their vanilla soft serve ice cream with apple pie filling straight from the Costco bakery and bits of pie crust to add a bit of texture to the situation. This is a classic fall item to see on many menus this time of year for a reason―it’s dang good.

The only worry I have about this new dessert is how heavy it’s going to be. Not in a literal sense, though apple pie filling can get pretty dense, but I definitely am going to need a nap after a single serving of the stuff!

A Welcomed Sundae After Their Last

I never thought I’d see the day that I would be disparaging a cookies and cream inspired dessert but here we are. Costco’s last sundae, the vanilla crunch sundae, was just a bit of a stinker! I’m an Oreo purist so they really lost a lot of points by using anything but the classic cookie for their cookie crumbles. Apple pie filling on the other hand, I have less of a loyalty to so I’m sure Costco will do things well this time.

Apple Pie Is Taking Over

We’ve seen a lot of apple-flavored dishes coming out this year. They’re really trying to give pumpkin spice a run for their money and I’ll be honest, it’s working on me. My favorite restaurant here in LA, Lingua Franca, just added an apple crisp to their menu and it has me absolutely mesmerized. I nearly ascended to the heavens above when they even went as far as adding it onto the French toast for brunch this past weekend.

Costco must be watching me closely and changing up their menu to try to reel me in. First they saw me eating six churros a day at Disneyland and now this? They really don’t have to work this hard to win me over but hey, I won’t turn them down now that they are. I’ll be there to eat the apple pie sundae each and every time I’m at the food court until they pull it from the menu.
