There’s never a dull moment over at Chips Ahoy. The cookie brand has had a typically busy year making typically quirky moves, some of which made sense to us, and some of which left us slightly baffled. Its soccer flavors, released for the World Cup? Sure – that one scans. Its Toy Story cookie? Again, we got it. Its mystery flavor? Slightly more out there, but not the most unusual thing in the world. Its tomato sweet chili cookie, released in collaboration with Heinz? Umm…okay, that one was a step too far.

Given that last cookie was its most recent (albeit in China), it’s with a certain amount of reassurance that we report that Chips Ahoy hasn’t fully pivoted to novelty flavors. Instead, it’s on firmer ground with its new Minis flavors, which I think are all but guaranteed to be a hit.
Chips Ahoy! New Minis Flavors
Chips Ahoy (sorry, Chips Ahoy!) has just announced that it’s releasing two new Minis flavors, which take the concept of its itty-bitty cookies and amp them up with some good old-fashioned drizzle. Starting now, Chips Ahoy Minis Caramel Drizzled and Chips Ahoy Minis Fudge Drizzled will be available in 6 oz pouches and 2.5 oz tear bags. Each one starts with a Chips Ahoy mini chocolate chip cookie, which is then crowned with either a rich fudge or a sweet caramel.
And…that’s it! Chips Ahoy isn’t trying to do anything wildly innovative here; it’s just its cookies with an extra hit of flavor. But I’d hazard a guess that most people don’t need this cookie brand to be a radical disruptor. Adding a drizzle is a safe but effective way to amp up its standard cookies without rocking the boat too much, and I’d imagine most people will enjoy what’s on offer here. I personally like the sound of that caramel flavor, too, which, if my suspicions are correct, will provide a nice, slightly burnished contrast to the chocolate notes underneath.
And Where Can I Find Them?
Well, according to Mondelēz International (which makes Chips Ahoy), the cookies will be available at limited retailers and convenience stores. Exactly which retailers, though, is unclear: It hasn’t stated yet where you can find them, and my own searches on Walmart, Target, and Kroger’s websites didn’t throw up any results. Given that these have just been released, we’d imagine their actual availability will become clear in the coming days and weeks – and it could be that Chips Ahoy is keeping things limited for now to gauge interest.
