Pokémon Happy Meals Are Finally Coming Back To McDonald’s

The influence that Pokémon has had on pop culture over the recent years simply cannot be understated. From apps dictating people’s movements in a city to sold out shelves in toy stores every time a new drop comes about, people are going absolutely crazy for Pokémon. And we’ll be the first to admit that we didn’t think the game and series would still be maintaining such cultural relevant. In fact, it only seems to be growing a larger and larger fan base first time goes on.

But this year was a particularly exciting one for the company and Pokémon fans alike. You see, it is actually the 30th anniversary of Pokémon this year, and they have not been shy about celebrating. One company that Pokémon has been partnering with throughout the celebrations is McDonald’s.

When they first started announcing celebratory menus at McDonald’s locations throughout Japan, we were momentarily disappointed that the collection wouldn’t be making its way to the United States. But now we get to see what they have been cooking up all along that we had only heard whispers and rumors of up until yesterday

A VeryHappy Meal For Pokémon Fans

We did hear a brief mention of the Pokémon Happy Meals in late summer, but no official word from McDonald’s or Pokémon themselves had been issued. But just yesterday McDonald’s turned to X to make our dreams come true. Perhaps what’s even better news than the collaboration itself, though, is that the Happy Meals are going to be far more deluxe than we could’ve even expected.

The Pokémon Happy Meals can be ordered in either the McNugget or Cheeseburger varieties, but all will come with Pokémon two playing cards and a collectible toy. Seven of the 15 playing cards that will come with these Happy Meals are special foil cards, and the collectible toy will be randomized between one of fifteen collectible McDonald’s x Pokémon figures representing the Pokémon characters including Pikachu, Rowlet, and Sprigatito.

The box of the Happy Meal itself shouldn’t be looked over either, with it being a random selection between one of three Pokémon characters as the design. Golden arches will crown Pikachu, Umbreon, or Torchic in this exclusive meal and house all of the Pokémon goodies within.

A Mad Dash To Catch ‘Em All

A large parter of the greater Pokémon culture has to do with collecting, so there’s naturally going to be a pretty big demand from this launch — especially since McDonald’s is one of the most popular fast food chains out there. This collection launches on November 10, so if you’re at all interesting in these limited-edition Happy Meals we’d suggest acting on it as soon as you can.
