Meet Scooped: All the Stuff We Love Beyond the Grocery Aisle

Life happens around food. Scooped, Sporked’s shopping section, finds the gear, gadgets, services, subscriptions, and clever little upgrades that make cooking, eating, drinking, and hosting a whole lot better.

Scooped is a section on Sporked that goes beyond fast food drive-thrus and grocery aisles to explore what’s in our kitchens. From pantry staples and meal kits to coffee makers and cabinet organizers, we’re shopping around, trying as much as we can, and sharing the results with the same curiosity, enthusiasm, and honesty as our taste tests. Whether you’re looking for the best blender for smoothies or top-shelf edible gifts for your favorite foodie, we’ve got you covered.

What We Cover in Scooped

Through Scooped, Sporked expands its role as your grocery store companion by bringing you the latest and greatest in all that makes your kitchen a dynamic and flavorful space. We’re scoping out the best food you can buy online, testing trending appliances to discover what’s actually worth it, and shedding light on products that keep your kitchen clean, organized, and as unique as you. We’ll also let you know when and where you can find all of that and more for a steal—even if it’s not Black Friday.

Want to know how to pick the right air fryer for your household? We can help with that!

Does the skillet you saw on social media live up to the hype? We’ll try it before you buy it!

Do you need to narrow down the mountain of water bottles you’ve collected over the years?

Same!

But if you’re really ready to let some go, let’s review a few and scale it back to the best of the bunch.

Who We Are

Our team is dedicated to curating authentic experiences with the groceries and kitchenware we use every day so our reviews and product recommendations are as true to life as possible. It’s almost like we’re in the kitchen together!

Ysolt Usigan, Editorial Director

Ysolt Usigan is the editorial director of Sporked’s shopping section, Scooped. She has led various editorial teams in testing products, curating what’s on the market, and helping people figure out what’s actually worth buying. Her work has appeared in Good Housekeeping, BestProducts.com, SheKnows.com, Everyday Health—just to name a few. A longtime product tester, curator, mom, and self-proclaimed snack guru, Ysolt has tried just about every appliance you can fit on a kitchen counter—from slow cookers and pressure cookers to espresso machines and innovative kitchen gear you didn’t know you needed. When she’s not testing something new, she’s figuring out what to cook for her family of four and where she’s going to store yet another kitchen appliance.

Britt Franklin, Commerce Writer

Britt Franklin is a writer and editor with over a decade of experience covering entertainment, culture, and life at home. She’s tested and reviewed countless products from kitchen appliances to grocery store finds since 2021. Based in Louisiana, Britt has an inherent love for southern cuisine and is most likely to try a Cuban sandwich whenever she sees one on the menu. In her spare time, you can find her catching up on her watchlist, probably with a gaming device in hand, when she’s not being (lovingly) ordered around by her dogs.

How We Curate and Test

At Scooped, we believe the best way to know if a product deserves a spot in your kitchen is to put it to work. Our team tests kitchen appliances, gadgets, meal kits, and more in real homes, using them the way you would—making weeknight dinners, brewing morning coffee, and seeing how they hold up to everyday life. We look at performance, ease of use, quality, value, and whether a product actually makes life easier, better, or more enjoyable. We compare products, dig into the details, and share what we love (and what we don’t). Not every product earns our recommendation or a post on our site. Our goal is to help you spend your money on things you’ll genuinely love using.
