One of the most popular items on the Olive Garden’s menu is their Italian dressing. A tangy mix of soybean oil, eggs and Romano cheese that was so popular it made it’s way to grocery store shelves (where it is one of the best bottled Italian dressings in our opinion).

But Aldi has it’s own version of the dressing, and fans on Reddit are raving about it.
People are saying this Aldi dressing is a dupe for Olive Garden’s Italian dressing
The dressing in question is the Tuscan Garden Restaurant Style Italian Dressing and for only $2.15, it can give you that same zesty flavor as the version of the Olive Garden Italian you find in stores. In a Reddit thread asking which Aldi’s salad dressings were worth buying, people came out hard for this dressing. Commenters wrote: “Their Italian dressing that is basically Olive Gardens is bomb” and “Yes the Tuscan Garden Italian Dressing tastes just like Olive Garden I love it.”
Is it really a dupe?
If you ask the folks consuming this dressing, then yes. It’s a dupe. But what about the ingredients? Here’s what’s in Aldi’s dressing: water, soybean oil, distilled vinegar, sugar, salt, Romano cheese (pasteurized cow’s milk, cheese culture, salt, enzymes), contains less than 2% of egg yolk, dried garlic, onion powder, spices, xanthan gum, calcium disodium EDTA (to protect flavor), annatto extract (for color), natural flavors.
Here’s what’s in Olive Garden’s bottled dressing: water, soybean oil, distilled vinegar, sugar, salt, eggs, Romano cheese (pasteurized part skim milk, cheese cultures, salt, enzymes), dehydrated garlic, spice, xanthan gum, dextrose, annatto color, calcium disodium EDTA added to protect flavor, natural flavor.
The two are pretty darn close! I think it’s safe to say that Aldi is selling a fairly faithful dupe for Olive Garden’s Italian dressing.
People aren’t just using it for salads
If you’re looking for handy uses for this Olive Garden dressing dupe, another Reddit thread titled “MARINATE YOUR CHICKEN IN THIS TRUST MEEEE” features a bunch of Redditors giving their suggestions for dishes you can marinate with this dressing. (And it’s hard to argue with all those extra “EEEEs.”)
