It’s been a minute since we’ve talked about Amy’s Kitchen – but it’s never too far from our minds. The organic, vegetarian frozen food brand earned spots on our best frozen margherita pizza, best frozen breakfast, and best frozen meals lists back at the end of last year, but admittedly, we’ve not been that hot on its new releases throughout 2026. Well, that’s about to change. Amy’s Kitchen has just dropped a new dish, and we wanna talk about it.

And we wanna talk about what else has been going on with the brand, too – ‘cos there’s been a lot this week. But first: The bowl!
Amy’s Kitchen’s Organic Queso Nacho Bowl
A few days ago, Parade announced that Amy’s Kitchen has just released its new Organic Queso Nacho Bowl, exclusively at Whole Foods. This dish sort of has the vibe of a sharing option, even though it’s a single-person product: It’s built with organic white rice, fire-roasted corn, vegetarian chorizo, and black beans, with yellow corn tortilla chips, jack and cheddar cheese, and a queso sauce on top. It basically feels like a bowl of loaded nachos, and you may have to slap people’s hands away when they encroach upon your dining space to try some. It only weighs 278 grams, after all.
Amy’s Kitchen’s Organic Queso Nacho Bowl has 16 grams of protein and five grams of fiber, and its chorizo is made from a combination of pea protein and mushrooms. It’s also gluten-free and made with non-GMO ingredients. There’s no word on whether it’ll roll out beyond Whole Foods, but for now, you’ll have to head there if you want to try it.
News! More News!
The arrival of Amy’s Kitchen’s new nacho bowl has come at, perhaps, the wrong time for the brand – considering that it’s currently in the midst of a big recall. Over 180,000 cans of its Organic Lentil Soup have been recalled across more than 25 states, due to the potential for spoilage, according to the US Food and Drug Administration. If you have a can of soup you think might have been affected, check whether the lot code and best before date match those on the FDA’s enforcement report.
Both the recall and this new bowl intersect with an acknowledgement from the brand’s CEO, Paul Schiefer, that it’s a tricky time to be in the food biz. “You have inflation, market changes; a lot of disruptive things thrown our way. It’s true for all food companies,” he said in an interview with Food Business News. Schiefer went on to say that trying to balance the company’s processes in the face of fluctuations and changes, while retaining its food’s quality, is key.
