Our Honest Review of Baja Blast Gelato

It’s FINALLY here! After a one-store test that sold out almost immediately in 2023 that led to MASSIVE fan demand for a larger release, Taco Bell has rolled Baja Blast Gelato out nationally to all locations across the country. It’s part of a larger celebration for Baja Blast’s 20th Bajaversary. And we got to try it!

If you haven’t secured this for yourself, you’ll want to check NOW as the gelato is extremely limited. Sources tell us that each location only received just 288 containers and there are no plans to restock. To order the gelato, you need to download the Taco Bell app and snag it as part of a mobile pickup order (you can get up to four per order). The MSRP for the 3.6 oz container is $3.99, but we have seen reports of locations charging $4.49 or $4.99. We got our hands on it so let’s dive right into our review.

Taco Bell Baja Blast Gelato

New Baja Blast Gelato!

Taco Bell Baja Blast Gelato

Pros: This gelato perfectly captures the Baja Blast flavor. It’s very sweet (without being too sweet) and is just creamy enough. It’s sort of got an Italian ice vibe. It’s made with cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup, which I know will be a plus to many. The treat reminds me a lot of Taco Bell’s Baja Blast Freeze but dessert-ified. I would love to see Taco Bell make this a permanent menu item. Also, if you are curious, it does not contain caffeine.

Cons: Baja Blast Gelato comes in a really tiny container for the price. It comes up in pretty much every review. I hope if Taco Bell brings this back again, they enlarge the container or drop the price. I’ll also add that it doesn’t necessarily taste like gelato. It’s definitely got more of an “Icee” quality to it than I was expecting.
