Aldi frozen meals don’t have a cult following like Trader Joe’s frozen food. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t some frosty treasures to be found in Aldi’s freezers. We tasted 12 Aldi frozen meals—including Aldi frozen pasta and Aldi frozen meals for one—to find the best Aldi meals to nab from the freezer section.
Let’s start by saying that this ranking is an ongoing project. We snagged all the frozen meals we could find at Aldi. But if you regularly shop at Aldi, you know how fast things can change. I’m sure they’re stocking new meals right now. So we’ll be revisiting this ranking as we score different Aldi meals.
And here’s what we looked for and will continue to look for in the best Aldi frozen meals: flavor, satisfaction, and quality of ingredients. Essentially, we don’t want a pile of flavorless mush that leaves us hungry. If that satisfies your wants and needs, then read on for the best Aldi frozen meals to buy ASAP.

- Bremer Basil Parmesan Chicken
-
We tried a few Aldi frozen pasta meals—the kind you get in a bag, dump into a big dish, and zap in the microwave. And, for the most part, they’re all pretty similar. They’re alfredo-esque pastas with some broccoli and chicken. This one was the best of the bunch thanks to a heavy hand with the parmesan flavor, which makes it much more satisfying. Plus, this Aldi frozen pasta is made with curly cavatappi noodles, which are much better than the penne or rotini that are in the other varieties. It’s simply more fun, but it also cooks up nicely al dente. My main quibble is that there’s not enough basil flavor. But since this is a frozen pasta meal we’re talking about and frozen pastas aren’t usually the best way to showcase fresh herbs, maybe that’s for the better.

- Bettr Bowl Birria Bowl
-
This frozen bowl doesn’t taste like birria. It needs to have way more flavor and spice for that. But it does taste like decent leftover brisket mixed with rice and corn. Packed with 28g of protein, it’s a good base for a filling meal. Add some guacamole or hot sauce or both, along with a side of corn chips or plantain chips, and then you’ll have yourself a satisfying meal.

- Bettr Bowl Chipotle Chicken Bowl
-
Do you think cilantro tastes like soap? Then you can go ahead and skip this bowl. Do you love cilantro and think everything needs more cilantro? This bowl is for you. Made with chipotle-seasoned chicken, jasmine rice, roasted corn, cilantro, kale, and avocado crema, it’s light on chipotle flavor but the cilantro zest adds punch, and there’s some spice to the crema as well. The meat is tender and it really tastes like chicken. It could use some sour cream, but what couldn’t? It’s honestly as good as a bowl from Chipotle.

- Bremer Bistro Lasagna with Meat Sauce
-
You know what rocks about this Aldi frozen lasagna? The edges get crispy in the microwave. You can, of course, cook this frozen lasagna in the oven. But you can also just pop the whole thing in the microwave and still wind up with crispy edge bits. This is not an everyday lasagna. It’s not a weekly lasagna. It’s a quarterly lasagna. It’s so decadent and greasy and sloppy and really, really satisfying. The noodles are thick. The cheese is stretchy and creamy. It all mushes together in exactly the way you want homestyle lasagna to mush. You are absolutely required to serve this Aldi frozen lasagna with a salad—not a creamy one, just some greens tossed with vinaigrette. It needs the contrast.

- Bremer’s Shepherd’s Pie
-
Of all the Bremer frozen meals we tasted, this is the best of the lot. It’s layered with savory ground meat studded with cubed carrots and peas, and creamy, well-seasoned mashed potatoes. It tastes like a classic shepherd’s pie (cottage pie, technically, since it’s made with beef rather than lamb or mutton), and you can make it in 14 minutes in your microwave. Seriously. And it comes out tasting great. While I, personally, could do with a few more vegetables in the mix, this is a super satisfying frozen Aldi meal. It’ll feed a family and it’ll be ready in under a quarter of an hour. What more could you ask for in today’s go-go-go world? Well, okay, fine, you could ask for a lot more. But when it comes to the best Aldi frozen meals, you can’t do better than this one.
