By 2050, I expect all of the major snack brands to have successfully launched a chip for every single flavor known to mankind. (Kidding! It’s just one brand: Frito-Lay-Utz-Mars-Nike-Nvidia.) (Haha, kidding again! It’s just Nvidia.) I predicted this outcome as soon as I tried the Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity Chips from Lay’s many, many months ago. If they can do that, they can (and will) do anything. But right now, it’s only 2025, and I’m here to tell you about the top best new chip flavors we tried this year. We’re right on track with them, I think.

- Utz Lemonade Chips

Who could have known lemonade chips would taste so good? Honestly, we should have known. Citric acid makes everything taste good. Per the words of our writer Griffin Parker in his initial review: “Should I have been salting the rim of my lemonade this entire time?” It’s a winning combo, apparently. These are sour, punchy, salty, and super unique. Try ‘em while you can.

- Kroger Pigs in a Blanket Chips
-
Holy cow. It’s a pig, in a blanket, in a chip! These potato chips genuinely taste like hot dogs, nailing that specific blend of paprika, mustard seed, onion powder, and smoky, savory flavor you associate with real pigs in a blanket. Like good pigs in a blanket, the chips aren’t as greasy as you’d expect them to be, either. They’re thin, light, crisp, and full of flavor. This is a novelty chip that we’re so, so glad made it past the brainstorming stage at Kroger HQ. Congrats on making the best chip of 2025, Kroger. You’ve earned it.
