The Best Electrolyte Powders, Ranked

The best electrolyte powders revitalize you in two ways: with powerful hydration and amazing flavor. Whether you’re recovering from a grueling workout (not really my thing), suffering the consequences of a night out (also not really my thing), or just chronically dehydrated for mysterious reasons (definitely my thing), you want the best tasting electrolyte powders by your side. I’m not saying these magical mixes will undo your questionable decisions, but they can definitely make your morning-after a little more bearable. That way you can muster the energy to send the obligatory, “Be honest: How much did I embarrass myself last night?” voice memo to the group chat. Or lie to the friend who already asked.

As someone who is pretty new to the world of electrolyte mixes, I was surprised (and mildly overwhelmed) by how many brands are out there. And look, I’m not a doctor or nutritionist, so no, I didn’t conduct experiments on myself or anyone else. I can’t tell you which brand fixes your hangover or pumps you with the highest level of hydration, but I can tell you what tastes the best—while at least paying attention to what’s in them. So without further ado, here are the best electrolyte powders (including the best sugar free electrolyte powder) to keep you hydrated and happy. Cheers!

Ultima Replenisher Lemonade Electrolyte Powder

Best Lemonade Flavor

Ultima Replenisher Lemonade Electrolyte Powder

Consider Ultima’s Lemonade Replenisher my honorable mention. You’ll notice that I ranked the other electrolyte powders by brand, and not singular flavors—and that’s because there are simply too many flavors of hydration mixes in this world, and ain’t nobody got time for that. Overall, Ultima’s electrolyte powders tasted too strongly of Stevia to compete with these more balanced, refreshing brands—except for their lemonade flavor. The tart acidity cuts through the sweetness in a way that really scratches my brain just right. If you’ve been wanting to try Ultima, I’d start here. It’s one of the best tasting electrolyte powders of the bunch.

Propel Variety Powders

Best Sugar Free Sugar Free Electrolyte Powder

Propel Electrolyte Variety Powders

Propel hydration mixes are boldly flavored without being too sweet. Yes, you can still taste the Ace K and sucralose on the finish. But the primary flavor is always as-advertised—for example, that grape? Tart, bitter, and intense, but in a good way. It’s also worth noting that Propel doesn’t include artificial colors. That might be old news to anyone who regularly consumes electrolyte beverages, but I realized it just by looking at all my taste-test cups lined up. There’s a lot of noise around food dyes that I personally don’t pay attention to, but if that’s something you want to avoid, Propel might be the best electrolyte powder for you. It’s definitely one of the best sugar free electrolyte powders on the market!

Liquid I.V. Hydration Variety Pack

Runner Up

Liquid I.V. Hydration Variety Pack

If you’re curious, we’ve already broken down the best Liquid I.V. flavors in a ranking. As a brand overall, I’ve really gotta hand it to Liquid I.V. They don’t use artificial flavors, sweeteners, or food dyes. Their light, refreshing Lemon Lime and citrusy Tangerine flavors are two of best tasting electrolyte powders I’ve tried to date. The ingredients boast twice the amount of potassium and sodium as our #1 pick, and unlike many brands, pack a gamut of vitamins as well. For many people, Liquid I.V. makes the best electrolyte powders you can buy—but I can only speak my truth.

Pedialyte Electrolyte Powder Variety Powder Pack

Best of the Best

Pedialyte Electrolyte Powder Variety Pack

Oh, Pedialyte. The mornings and nights we’ve spent together. You know me better than I know myself. And I have to say, I’m blessed to have you in my life. Seriously, I love how Pedialyte doesn’t taste too sweet or salty. Unlike Propel and Liquid I.V., they perfected the formula to yield a balanced, evenly flavored sip. For hangovers and daily rehydration, it really goes down easy. Even the apple, which tastes like a green Jolly Rancher or hard candy, isn’t too cloying. In my opinion, Pedialyte has universal appeal—and that’s what makes it the best electrolyte powder to date. And hey, pro tip: Pedialyte also makes popsicles
