I thought finding the best thin crust frozen pizza would be easy. In my mind, most frozen pizzas are frozen thin crust pizza. But they aren’t. Even the ones that advertise having a thin crust end up having a medium-thick crust. Thin crust frozen pizza should have a thin crust—it should be delicate and almost crackery.
I tasted 11 different pies in search of the best frozen thin crust pizza, and only four made the cut. That doesn’t mean the other seven were necessarily bad frozen pizzas, they just were the best thin crust frozen pizza money could buy. And we here at Sporked only recommend the absolute best for you, my babies. I looked for that thin, crispy crust (think: Domino’s thin crust, practically a big, cheesy cracker), perfect topping distribution (they should go all the way to the edge but shouldn’t overload the thin crust so that it falls apart), and overall good, savory flavor.

DiGiorno’s new Ultra Thin frozen pizzas are far better thin crust frozen pizzas than their standard thin crust. The crust is just so very, very thin. We preferred the veggie version (more on that later), but the meaty Ultra Thin is also quite good. The pepperoni is good, the sausage is fine, but the ham batons are the stand-out topping. And you cannot ignore just how much meat is on this frozen thin crust pizza. It is a meat lover’s dream come true and definitely the best frozen thin crust pizza if you identify as a carnivore above all else.

- Good & Gather Thin Crust Mushroom & Truffle

This frozen thin crust pizza is an umami bomb. The mushrooms are plump and flavorful, which is impressive. All too often, mushrooms on frozen pizza wind up thin and dry. And the truffle flavor is present but not overwhelming and it doesn’t have a chemically flavor, which truffle oil can sometimes have. There are little bits of onion and herb that add depth of flavor. The crust is perfectly crackery. I would cut this into squares and serve it as a snack at a cocktail party or pair it with an arugula salad (or one of the best Target Good & Gather bagged salads) for a fancy but effortless dinner.

This is a bit of a controversial pick because it goes against the opinion of my colleague, Gwynedd Stuart. In her ranking of the best frozen pepperoni pizzas, she picked Red Baron as the best frozen thin crust pepperoni pizza. But I found that crust to be thicker than Jack’s. You be the judge and let us know who is right. Don’t email us or leave a comment, though, just open up your window and scream it out into the night air. We’ll hear you. Anyway, I loved that the toppings and cheese went all the way to the edge of the very thin, crackery, delicate crust. And the pepperoni was perfectly savory and crispy. For me, it’s the best frozen thin crust pepperoni pizza.

I told you we’d talk more about DiGiorno’s Ultra Thin pizza, because the veggie Ultra Thin is the very best thin crust frozen pizza you can buy. I’ll say it again, it’s so crispy and thin and the toppings coverage is so thorough there’s no bare crust in sight. It’s all veggies and cheese and sauce. Aside from the superior crust, this thin crust frozen pizza earns points from the size of the toppings. Everything is cut so small, it’s practically part of the sauce. And that’s what you need when you have such a thin crust. That way, the toppings don’t weigh the pizza down and they don’t get too soggy. It’s a delicious way to get your veggies.
